We went to the top of Mt Eden on a fairly drizzly day. Taxi dropped us at the summit, however the walk up the mountain could be done by anyone with a moderate fitness level. The view from the mountain was amazing. The crater is incredibly deep/steep, photos don't really do it justice, so it's wonderful to see. We spent... More

Excellent spot for a morning run! I was happily impressed with how many fit people congregated up here on a sunny morning. It is a gorgeous spot overlooking the city.

Good place to visit. 360 deg. views are very good and was windy too. Can see lots of Auckland land marks.

Must-go place in Auckland for those fantastic harbour views and feeling like you're doing a bit of exercise. Don't fall in the crater, and don't expect to be there alone - all the other tourists have the same idea!

Pick a clear day and you will get some great views from Mount Eden. I didn't love Auckland... but I did love it up here! We drove up but it looked like there were some nice trails to walk or jog up there too.

As I live in a backpackers just a 5 minute walk from Mt Eden, it's a great way to start your morningrun, fantastic view makes the workout even more worth it. Often go and with the sun set with fellow backpackers.

Well worth the walk up from the hop on hop off tour bus stop (cars are allowed to the top, buses are not). There is a complimentary shuttle according to our tour bus driver, but we decided to walk. Panoramic views of the city.
