Mt Eden is accessible by car, for those who do not wish to walk the uphill distance. You can also get there by tour bus. At the top is a free car parking area and you can take a walk around the top of the crater, which is now all grassed over but you can see the considerable depth of... More

The highest volcano in auckland. I caught a bus from the city for only a few dollars. It's incredible to think that auckland is built on multiple dormant volcanoes. As a self confessed volcano addict i loved the many volcanic mts around auckland. This is an excellent starting point to understand how the geology of this part of new zealand... More

Pretty average. I prefer Mt Wellington, cause it can be reached only by foot and it's a nice short exercise. Lots of traffic and tourists on Mt. Eden. Otherwise lovely view.

There are various ways to get up here. We walked, as part of the coast to coast trail. We were rewarded with some great views.

A view over the city and a crater to boot. Definitely worth a look when in Auckland. You can drive all the way or do walks.

I had never seen a crater before so I thought it was pretty cool. Great view and great photo ops. We were staying close by however I think it's worth the visit.

Walked leisurely from K road to Mount Eden base, did a short climb to the SUmmit and the view were fantastic! It was so windy and I enjoyed the view up there! I would recommend anyone who stays in Auckland city to do it! Definitely worthwhile!

We drove up to mount eden and it was really scenic. There were many people having picnic and many joggers. Its a nice short drive up the mountain. Do drop by if you are in auckland!

Thankfully, if you're staying in a B&B like I always try to do, the locals will always tell you the true things that you need to see while you are in town, and this is certainly one of them! Its a small, and I think inactive, volcano on the edge of town that has views that are larger than even... More

This has to be your first place to visit when you arrive in Auckland. The crater and the view are simply breathtaking.
