Parnell is a great place to visit to shop, dine and just relax. The shops, banks, restaurants are all within easy walking distance, parking is good, though not cheap and the whole atmosphere is quite pleasant. Parnell is also very close to the CBD with some residents choosing to walk to and from work thus saving driving stress and parking... More

Lovely place for drink or a break. Very relaxing. When you walk through the street, not likely in New Zealand. Funny

We came upon this magical village at night. It is utterly charming with its quaint buildings and twinkling fairy lights. Lots of restaurants, cafés and bars. Specialty stores and nooks to explore. Well worth a visit- at night simply magical.

Do not get too excited about the Parnell district of Auckland! But, it is a pretty inner city suburb with cafés and up market shops. One of the w/e attractions, well publicised, are the markets. The better one by quite a long way is the Cigale French style market. It is bigger, has a more diverse content and definitely livelier!... More

I have been living here for 1 year 12 years ago. This time, I stayed in Rose Park Hotel for two days and visit my old friend. The best place in this area is the Parnell Bath, which is a salt pool open to public. It is free for kids under 16. The boutiques are interesting too. There was a... More

Since we needed to move on further to Rotorua, we didn't spend to much time here. Our visit could be considered as "only passing by" :-) However, we could feel the unique atmosphere here with all the shops, restaurant and the pedestrians. When in Auckland and have enough time, don't hesitate to spend here; even if it would be for... More

Visited this place alone. A relatively small and cozy place to visit. It has enough places for me to explore the whole day... I love the walk i had, along the main street looking at those houses, found some nice shops/ restaurant, had a coffee... Walked to St Mary and later to the Parnell Museum. I enjoyed myself walking all... More

We ate at Di Mare steak and seafood restaurant one night and though expensive the food was delicious. We shared the seafood paella and also a porterhouse steak with vegetables. All delicious. Also, ate lunch one day at the Burgerfuel which had delicious NZ beef and lamb. For gifts go to The Elephant House in Parnell located off a side... More

Indulgence and a trip-back-in-time,is what this lovely Victorian timber villas along the upper slope of Parnell road, provide. They now acting out a second life as antique shops, designer boutiques, cafes and restaurants. This is a case of saving these gems from the jaws of development in the 60s. Today, you will revel in the pink & white timber facades as you ruminate through... More
