The wintergardens are nice if it's raining or cold as they are heated glasshouses with a collection of wierd and wonderfull plants , also a fern collection. if you want to see cricket, rugby, soccer or whatever a good place. Some teams are very casual and will let you join in - look for the ones without uniforms ..

Wish I knew the name of the type of big, old trees with sprawling (exposed) roots - they were SO cool! Part of the park was closed for an "event", so we didn't get to drive all throughout.

The close proximity of Auckland University, AUT, the Auckland Library, Queen Street for shopping, Britomart and the ferries is fantastic.

The Domain is a lovely open space in the city, which is also where the Winter Gardens and the Museum are, so lots to do there. Great place for a picnic, a kick about or just a lovely walk.

Inspired by the event 'music in the park', we spent a nice Sunday afternoon there. This park is huge and just minutes away from the CBD. It's a nice place for a walk or for s picnic or just to relax under a tree.

Anyone making negative remarks about this place has no true appreciation of the environment. This place is magnificent where nature rules over man. The natural trees, grass, hills all provide a beautiful day out. There is a pond with ducks right next to the lovely cafe. Have a picnic or a stroll throught the park, it is a true blessing.... We visited today walking through parts of the domain whilst coming from the CBD to Auckland Museum. Great collection of spaces with something for everyone - walkways, formal gardens, open spaces, waterfeatures and a bandstand. See my photos fof the variety. Certsinly a great place to spend time on a sunny summer's day

It's a good walk from one side to the other. you can walk on the sidewalks or take some detours on paths in the forest. Mostly clean, cool, shady. However, many of the sidewalks are in need of maintenance, more benches are needed, and some garbage was evident. overlooking this to enjoy the magnificent old trees and beautiful museum.

An amazingly beautiful and peaceful place so close to the hustle and bustle of the city. Worth a visit any day for a stroll or take a picnic, if you are visiting the museum make an effort to take a walk and you will not be disappointed (I know your feet are sore from walking on the hard museum floors!).... An interesting art display together with an explanation of the relevance to the politics of the period
