The free guided tour given by volunteers every day was really interesting and helped in understanding the Maori culture.

We very much enjoyed our visit to the Auckland Museum, especially the Maori Hall where we spent a couple of hours learning about the history of NZ's indigenous people. We found the hall to be very well done and informative and were able to talk to curators who were restoring a traditional Maori meeting house. We learned about the restoration... More

As a local resident i didn't have to pay , but was disgusted my spanish friend had to pay $25 for entry , $45 if he wanted entry and a concert performance . Bit of a rip as apart from the Maori carvings etc there is very little to see apart from the spitfire and the zero . Plenty of... More

We had been to Auckland lots of times but never to the Museum. We had no idea how comprehensive it would be. And what a treat to see the world of wearable art we had seen in Nelson a decade ago. We even had lunch at the Café.

We went to the museum only for the World of Wearable Arts Exhibition and also went to Columbus cafe which is in the museum. The exhibition is extraordinary and amazing! It's definitely worth going. The staff were very helpful, particularly as we kept asking for directions within the museum. There's a great craft area in this exhibition too, which is... More

Having lived in NZ for 9 years my family had never been to this museum before. We went to see it due to the WOW Exhibition. We really weren't disappointed and I cannot believe we haven't been before. The exhibition itself was fantastic, amazing lighting of the Works of Art and also a video playing of a WOW show. Having... More
