This was one of the highlights of our trip. We found many interesting exhibits and the war museum is worth the trip on its own. Situated in beautiful surroundings with views over Auckland CBD

It is a very nice place to understand New Zealand. We stay 2 hours and we hope to stay longer next time.

Maori cultural show is worth attending. Great palace to see the history, geography of NZ.The traditional Maori houses are beautiful. the in- house cafe is good . can serve more dishes especially the typical kiwi dishes, since it is visited by travellers from all over the world

We liked all the displays and the performance by the Maori people. It would have been better, if we had more time.

Didn't realise there was so much to see in this museum! You could definitely spend a few hours here, perfect rainy day activity. Free entry for locals. Spent a couple of hours here and still didn't see it all. Found the on-site café a little pricey though. Lovely surroundings as it's situated in the Domain and the Wintergarden etc nearby.... More

The Auckland Museum is a must see for first time visitors to New Zealand. It covers all the history and culture and even does a good job explaining earthquakes that plague the country. We spent two hours and could easily have doubled that.
