We jumped off the HopOn-HopOff bus here and enjoyed the fine location with view of Auckland. The Maori-exhibition was interesting as well as some of the other ones,- volcano, ocean, land..... This museum is well worth a visit, especially if you are not local NZ.

Very nice grounds and building. Interesting and well presented exhibits. We especially enjoyed the special exhibit on wearable art. Not sure how long that runs.

The ground floor was a little strange with artefacts from every decade. Mainly about music and design and fashion. The first floor was very good with great displays of fossils and bones and models. Really enjoyed the volcano section.

Wonderful museum. Be aware it is a little easy to get disoriented inside the museum. There are many small off shoots from the main museum. Allow time. There is much to see.

The Maori exhibits were wonderful and the various war memorial exhibits were beautifully done and quite moving. One really gets a sense of what matters to the people of New Zealand. We enjoyed our visit there very much.

This Museum is a great way to spend 1- 3 hours lost in time! Parking was easy to find and upon entering the building, information, toilets and cafe are right there in front of you. We wandered into the WOW Exhibition and viewed for free, past winners of the world famous Wearable Arts. If you're interested in Maori culture, carvings... More

nothing much to say, for locals its a bit for a bore because it doesn't get updated. history of NZ section is truly unique but the other sections are just for kids. museum is about average for auckland, nothing special.

Excellent exhibits, great place to visit with children. Allow at a half day for the Museum and more to visit the gardens in which it is set.

This Museum is definitely worth the stop. So much to see allow your self at least 4 hours to see everything. It has a restaurant inside for lunch and dinner. You can take the public transportation that is very inexpensive.
