Very friendly staff, definitely worth visiting! Thought the light show was expensive for what it was.

Amazing, and challenging. Havent laughed so hard in ages, waited in a que for about 15mins thinking we were seeing a show when it was a still installation - classic!

Walking past the art gallery we were attracted by its beautiful architecture and stayed to visit the current exhibition- on light (which is great and interactive). But the gallery is worth a visit in its own right to see the blend of cultures expressed through design.

Visited the Auckland Art gallery for the first time in many years, could not believe the transformation, it was simply stunning. Firstly, the building itself is a work of art, light, airy, open spaces, long hallways and ups and downs everywhere, a visually interesting and complex building. The exhibitions where amazing, especially the impressionists gallery with stunning, large landscapes everywhere,... More

If your on a tight budget and want to soak in as much culture as you possibly can, this is a great place to start. Nice clean layout and a great range of displays and collections to see. The building itself is really nice as well.

There are works from a variety of artists who have been creating w/ light for the past 50 years. Some... More

We really enjoyed our short visit to the art gallery. We particularly liked the Maori portraits, especially those by Charles F Goldie. The Lego project seems like a brilliant idea too, we had fun joining in!

We've been to the Art Museum a few times and it's always a great experience. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thanks. A shame the cafe is not child friendly and the service is poor.

Free entry, free cloakroom, very helpful and friendly staff, great gift shop, beautiful architecture and interior design, great artworks on display, interesting exhibitions. The museum makes a big effort to satisfy a variety of people with different interests, there are lots of different things to do for children as well as adults and it is a very interactive space. Unfortunately,... More
