My partner and I visited Alberton House on a Sunday afternoon, starting with the grounds that are very nice and then inside of the house where a guide gave us an overview of the place and welcomed us in taking a look around and upstairs. The people at the front door were very professional and there's plenty of information about... More

After being excited about visiting the alberton sor some time, it was a greet disappointment to our party. Firstly they tried to sit us in full glaring sun. Secondly the food was very poor and also there was not enough compared to other high teas. The lunch was apparently even poorer value according to the complaints from the party next... More

Alberton is another one of those must see places in Auckland, well worth including as part of a day spent exploring the hidden history of Auckland. Along with Highwic and Ewelme Cottage, Alberton is one of Heritage New Zealands Auckland properties. The house is almost completely original and certainly conveys the story of the family who traveled from England to... More

We attended a friend's wedding at Alberton House, it was a stunning place for a wedding with the ceremony taking place on the veranda and then the reception in a pavilion on the lawn. Everyone had a wander through the house between the ceremony and the reception which kept us entertained while the wedding party had their photos done. The... More

We only had 1 day in Auckland but we didn't want to miss this historic house. It's a bit out of the city and local friends picked us up from the city and drove us there. It's not too far to either bus it or take the train from the CBD as we had originally planned. The house volunteer gave... More

Alberton is gracious, stately, innovative, beautiful home. Much of the house's original furnishings and fittings are still in place, and we were given a brief history by one of the volunteers that oversee the home. A very pleasant place to while away some time.

A historical house formally build and owned by a rich merchant. The house displays outer and inner designs of that time. Furniture and decoration are kept as they were. Worth a visit.

A great look into how houses used to be oh so long ago. Decorated in classic old fashioned style you'd expect from the 18th -19th century. A short trip into what life was like back then. A well preserved old place in the heart of Mount Albert

Nice grounds, not huge but very pleasant. Grand old house to get the feel of what life might have been like for these people. .
