This was a lovely experience, especially as it was sunny and looking back over to Auckland was absolutely gorgeous. There are some great cafes to have some morning tea, lunch or aftternoon tea and then simply hop back onto the ferry to Auckland.

Busy vibrant area with many attractions and a terrific view of Auckland City from the top of Mt Victoria. Walk up if you are fit but you can drive up. Large number of restaurants, coffee shops and trendy shops all in a relatively compact area. One can park there and catch the the modern boats to the City or Waiheke... More

Lovely little village just a boats ride away from Auckland, completely different atmosphere from the hustle and bustle of Auckland CBD. Walked up Mount Victoria and looked across the water to the stunning sight of Auckland CBD and the Auckland Bridge.

Devonport is wonderful destination if you are visiting Auckland and need just a little escape from the CBD and rush. It is like a small village with great main road where galleries, small shops and nice cafes give plasure to all of your senses:-) you can get there by the ferry. Enjoy a beer or a glass of wine on... We enjoyed our short ferry ride to Devonport and walking around the port area, including a very nice park where we saw several folks getting a Segway lesson prior to doing a Segway tour. Had a bite to eat, wandered through the shops and then boarded the ferry for our return to Auckland. This is an inexpensive way to get... More

If you want to be away from the crowds in Auckland and a ferry trip away this is the place. Many places to visit good restaurants and the view from Mt Victoria back to Auckland at sunset is wonderful

We thoroughly enjoyed our ferryride over to Devonport, and had a long gentle stroll around the town and to the beach on a lovely day. The highlight was when we turned up onto the main drag on our return and were 'kidnapped' by a lovely lady called Adrienne who took us up to see the view from Mount Victoria. She... More

When you visit Auckland, be sure to carve-out enough time (afternoon or evening) to take the ferry to Devonport and wonder the shops and restaurants. Wonderful little community that all is within walking distance. It also has a wonderful view of the Auckland skyline both day and night from across the bay. Well worth the trip!

Took a relative from England for a Sunday Ferry ride from downtown Auckland Ferry Building over to Devonport. It was a lovely day & he thoroughly enjoyed a pub lunch, walk around the village and paddle in the sea. Reminded him of sea side villages in England and just loved it!

Devonport is a stunning place to visit on a beautiful day. Walk up North Head and check out all the old tunnels and the stunning 360 degree view, check out the cute village and the cafe's and boutique shops
