We visited as part of an organised tour. As a volunteer myself, I know the importance of keeping things going. We had a brilliant couple of hours at Glenbrook. Steam trains hold a fascination for all ages. After a trip on Diana we spent some time in the sheds, even finding equipment made close to where we live in Lincoln!!... More

I went there with my now adult boys and teenage daughter and my boys girlfriends. It was one of the weekends that they had Thomas the Tank engine there with his friends too.

We have a 3 year old and have been to the Thomas the Tank Engine days they put on out at Glenbrook twice now. These days really are so much fun, and the kids absolutely love them. I'm sure we will be back again in the future.

Visited as part of a tour group. All pre-arranged. Welcomed by a group of excited volunteers, all very proud of their achievements in restoring, maintaining and operating the steam engine and carriages. Driver certainly put the engine through its paces between the Station and Waiuku. Visited the Depot for informative tour and details and background of the effort to maintain... More

Fantastic day out. Great ride to waiuku and back. Basic food at the station but good and very well priced.

My wife and I went to Glenbrook vintage railway for the harvest festival. We had a ride on the train which in my opinion is the best steam train ride on the North Island, look forward to going again one day and hopefully I can ride on the foot plate!

A well run, delightfully restored, friendly heritage railway, operating steam locos on an old branch line near Pukekohe. There are volunteers here of all ages, and some very competent engineers doing amazing work at the depot half way down the line. It runs from "the middle of nowhere" to the small town of Waiuku about 7km away. We drove from... More

I boarded the train at Waiuku, and did the return trip. Very impressed by everything - authentic and clean carriages, shiny engine, helpful volunteers in period costume, excellent modern and clean toilets at Glenbrook plus a well-stocked shop. Best of all was the ride on the hand jigger! This was such fun, and such a bargain at only $1 per... More

We visited the railway last weekend after reading about it in a google search. If I hadn't specifically looked for 'things to do in Pukekohe' I don't think we would have known it was close by. That leads me to thinking that this is a gem that needs to be discovered! We really enjoyed looking around the station, seeing the... More

Took a ride with the family including elderly parents. Everybody absolutely loved it. On the way back you do a little stopover at the railway yard where you can take pics with Thomas the Tank Engine.
