I love the cathedral's updgrade and the modernist feel it gives the historic cathedral. The location is central giving shoppers and hospital patient's and workers alike the chance to attend the midday church service. The huge windows make the cathedral part of the fabric of the city of Perth and not a structure which stands alone. A welcoming place for... More

St Mary's Cathedral is such a beautiful building exhibiting a fusion of the new with the predominantly Gothic architecture from 1936. The impressive building stands tall among some surrounding heritage buildings. Located next to the Royal Perth Hospital, it is an ideal place to go to for solace. If you want a quiet place to pray, here it is. Try... More

There is a silent reverence about this magnificent building and even if you are not religious or Catholic it's still amazing to see.

I found it somewhat odd that this church has new bits with old bits all combined into one. I preferred the view from the original exterior which appears to be the rear side. The front looks newly renovated/built with a modern design. Still a magnificent church!

St Mary's Cathedral Perth is worth a visit to see how the architecture from the different eras when the cathedral was built have been incorporated in today's building. It is intriguing and provides a very peaceful spot for a short break from sightseeing.

This cathedral is huge! You couldn't miss it if you tried. From the first moment we saw it we were intrigued by the beautiful architecture. We didn't get a chance to go inside which we regret but were so impressed by its presence from the outside.
