We enjoyed our tour for $25 pp. Good displays and gave you an insight into the gold pouring process, in which we saw liquid gold poured and then cast into a bar again. They use the same bar over and over again. Worth visiting, and there were good displays of coins.

I was expecting more than what I saw... I felt it was a museum for the rich only :'( they display all these nice gold stuff which you can't afford (hahaha)... Still, it's very small and it's free entrance (unless you want a guide)... We barely stayed there for 20min... I was really expecting to see how the process is... More

You can visit The Perth Mint for free and look at some display cases and items for sale. It's a nice building, too. For the full experience, you can join a tour for $25 that includes an historical talk, an exhibit with various nuggets, the world's largest gold coin (weighing a tonne!) and a gold-pouring demonstration. You can finish the... More

Mint was as one would expect. My review is about the little cafe on the premises. My wife and I ordered Devonshire tea at a cost of $10. Well what a disappointment that was. Two of the tiniest scones we have ever seen - and I mean minuscule. They would not have even been the size of a quarter of... More

Perth Mint; the oldest continually functioning Mint in the world is not only pumping out legal tender but has the most incredible Gold Museum highlighting the history of Gold Mining and development of Western Australia. Topped off by the world's largest Gold Coin weighing 1 tonne of solid gold and replica gold nuggets found throughout Western Australia it makes for... More

At first I wondered if I was going to find it - locals I asked didn't seem to know where it was when I asked if I was going in the right direction (I was on foot). Possibly its understated air is a small negative in this regard, but I was very impressed with everything else I saw, from the... More

Very interesting tour of the Mint. Very informative. May be wise to leave the credit card at home because the jewellery is very nice and it is very difficult to resist compulsive purchases.

The Perth Mint is quite the insight into coin making, and has a wonderful demonstration of the gold pour. The guide was knowledgeable and funny, and it was a great way to fill in part of the morning, especially on a rainy day in Perth. They also have a nice selection of items for sale. I would recommend visiting as... More

If you are in Perth, don't miss this place. Opened 7 days a week except public holidays. A short walk from our hotel to Hay st. You are NOT allow to take pics inside the viewing areas. Fascinating display of gold items, jewellery, diamonds & others expensive souvenirs. There is a charge for touring inside. Great place! See pics! (ONLY... More

Loved this. Not something that this writer would usually visit, but our guide (as I recall, Alex?) was most entertaining, knew his stuff and enjoyed all the interactive stuff, seeing molten gold being made into bars, the biggest coin in the world, learning what one's weight in gold is worth. Seriously fun. I imagine also for the little kids as... More
