We arrived at the main gate just before opening to be greeted by the guard on duty. At opening time the guard walked us in and provided an amazing commentary about the building's history and a tour of the complex's public areas which included many friendly sales staff preparing their counters. He then allowed us to join him for the... More

I went to the Perth mint with my kids (ages 3-10) and my parents. All of us found something to love, and the kids learned a great deal without realizing it. Our tour guide was entertaining, knowledgeable and extremely patient with our many questions.

I arrived a little late, just as the mint was closing. You need to register for a guided tour, the mint's location is great and i strongly encourage a visit. A great place to pick up coins for your collection too. Would like to visit the mint if i return to perth again.

The main attraction at the Perth Mint is the One Tonne pure gold coin with the inscription of the Australian kangaroo 2012 on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other. They show a small documentary film too. There is a machine there which calculates your weight into gold which is fun to stand on. At the souvenir shop... More

Though we were unlucky having missed the tour that left as we arrived, once in the was plenty to see of interest and the ability to wander around with a break in the middle for lunch was an advantage

This was a very interesting visit ,for the children and the adults. Strange to see the inside of an OLD mint. Some of the implements used are quite intruiging. The obvious great ending of casting a bar was a good finale. For the grown ups ,the added spice of the Mickelbergs made the story even better.

If you want the best Souvenirs from Perth, the Perth Mint is the right place. They have good gifts for all budgets. In my 23 years of living in Perth, my guests from overseas have always appreciated their visit to Perth Mint as their most meaningful and important part of their visit.

Very interesting and informative tour. Although I have lived in Perth for a good many years this was our first visit to the Perth Mint. We enjoyed the light hearted banter that was included by the tour guide. The gold pouring was very interesting and not to be missed on a visit to Perth.
