People of all ages will enjoy the Perth Mint. Very educational and fun. The demonstration of melting gold and its transference to a bar was amazing. You are also able to design one side of a coin and watch it being engraved. The guides taking you through the mint are well informed and have a terrific sense of humor. I... More

I love the Perth mint so we always bring any visitors to here. Firstly the building itself has a lot of history about it. Once inside there are various things to see and do:- see what the camps looked like of the first gold diggers and see replicas of some of the biggest gold ever dug up. Watch a gold... More

Very interesting and informative tour! Lovely old building with a great deal of history. The displays of minted coins and nuggets and the gold pour were excellent! Definitely worth a visit!

Enjoyed the visit. Watched a demonstration of gold being poured. The tour gave a history of the goldrush in WA and stories about the bigger 'finds' was interesting. Got to lift a solid gold bar. Purchased a commemorative coin that we got to design ourselves. Lovely old building too.

Perth Mint is still functions as a mint, there is a very good selection of gold to purchase, whether its necklaces, or nuggets. It also buys gold jewellery from the public, located in an old heritage sandstone building , just off St Georges terrace, Worth a visit.

The Perth Mint is definitely worth a visit if you are in Perth. However, I'm not 100% sure it would be worth making a visit for this exclusively. Interesting points were: 1) Being able to lift a bar of solid golf (surprisingly heavy) 2) Watching a live demonstration of gold being poured 3) The one million dollar gold coin (worth... More

We visited but did not do the tour. We looked around the outside & the inside shops where Kev couldn't please him self & had to buy some thing for me LOL. It was interesting to see the value of the gold etc. If you are in Perth you are able to get the Red Cat (I think it was)... More

If you visit the Perth Mint, doing the tour is a must. It was interesting learning about the history of gold in the region. My absolute favourite part of the tour was watch the demonstration of making a gold bar.

If you want to be ripped off over 50-70% for gold. Go to the perth mint. Nowhere in the world will you be overcharged as much as this place.
