A must see while in Perth

Interesting to know how the gold mining started in WA; to see the actual making of an ingot as it was done years ago. The 1 ton solid gold coin is impressive!

A quick tour of an hour through this historic mint was very enjoyable. A knowledgable guide, and amusing display of pouring molten gold and a concise explanation of history and legend. A great family tour.

Our visit here was great. The young man who did the talk about the gold rush in Australia was very good. I'm sure he has told the same story hundreds of times but he still sounded like it was a story he enjoyed telling. When we went inside for the gold pouring and the movie I was amazed by all... More

Gold has to be my favourite metal. The statue in the front courtyard brings to my thoughts of what it would have been like for my fathers father and his brothers who were all Kalgoorlie miners. The shop shows and displays a terific range of item to remind you of you visit.Loved the nuggets. Worth the look

Coins are gold and other metals. They are not boring or flower petals. Coins are round and solid too. Buy a coin because it is new.

I had heard so much about the Perth Mint as one of Perth's premier tourist attractions, but it turned out to be really disappointing. Entry fee was A$19 per person inclusive of a guided tour. The tour guides were very informative and had a good sense of humour. The tour started on the front of the historic building and continued... More

We took visiting cruise friends who were on a short stopover in Fremantle. The new entrance part after the tour is interesting, but did like the old prospecting scene, which gave some idea of the hardship on the Goldfields. This can still be viewed nearing the completion of the exhibition. The highlight of the tour is the gold pour, where... More

An interesting 2 hours, worth looking at all of the information boards, seeing gold being poured is a highlight.
