Excellent tour and excellent tour guide. To see a gold bar being made was amazing. No photos allowed and security was tight - as one would expect.

This was on one of the free bus routes so very easy to get to. There was a lot to see in their shops before we went on the tour. Our tour guide was great and explained everything in great detail. We watched the gold bar being poured and also weighed ourselves to see how much we were worth at... More

The visitor gets information on the gold word market, see how gold coins were made and also can get their customised coin to remember them of this visit. What surprised me is that the mint was... Won't say too much as there are some surprises during the visit which i would recommend. You have to book a time for the tour at busy times so you may have a hour wait.

I was in Perth for two weeks and noticed that the Perth Mint Tour was a number 1 attraction on Trip Advisor. I did wonder why and why a non Australian would be interested. I happened to rent a bike next door and when I returned it, I as a Canadian, took the plunge and went on the tour to... More

While in Perth we decided to pay a visit to the old mint and we weren't sorry as the tour was very interesting and informative. You are told about the Australian gold rush, shown different gold nuggets and then you see a gold ingot being made. The front of the building has a café and couple of shops where you... More

Whilst the Mint no longer produces coins for currency, it still shows how gold ingots are produced, gives you your value in gold weights and makes many souvenirs for your memories.
