If you're into contemporary art you would probably like this. I found it to be a weird collection of weird stuff. There was a display with just a piece of foil on it. The attendant was extremely snooty. I would definitely prefer the general art gallery.

WA Day saw a number of events spread across Perth and unexpectedly I came upon PICA’s latest exhibition entitled “hatched’, which provides an opportunity for culture-starved Perthites to get to see what our young talents are up to. This exhibition houses works from Bachelor of Art students from all over the country – a mix of traditional media (painting, sculpture-drawing)... More

I can here with a friend who was in a play and it was impressive. I really enjoyed it and the evening got better once we hit the PICA bar! What a great location... Close to the cultural centre and Northbridge.

And that's all you need to know about the local contemporary arts scene. I gave up after my fourth visit: some serious qualitative benchmarking is necessary in this town.

Most recently we visited PICA for Fringe World. As always it is a great space for a variety of performances and the PICA bar remains a favourite spot to pause between events.

went there for a coffee with friends around lunchtime. the coffee was so bad I asked for a refund (massive mouthful of grounds in the bottom of my cap), which to be fair they gave me. I ordered the baked eggs. $16 for 2 eggs and a bit of tomato sauce. WOW! the staff were grumpy and unwelcoming. would not... More
