An interesting experience, sitting in the open watching a movie on the big screen. A must do whilst in Broome.

An experience that you should do, but be prepared to have this punctuated quite loudly with landing aircraft (if the wind is blowing the right way). The theater sits in the old part of town, just under the flight path of planes when landing from the east. Totally worthwhile, but also bring a blanket as the temperature does drop off... More

Was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this to anyone whilst in Broome. Loved the open-air experience and the old-worldly feel to the place.

You simply have to come and see this place whatever is showing. But I do wish they were showing an old classic rather than the garbage that Hollywood put out this summer.

This place is utterly charming and unique. Untouched, a quirky freeze-frame of cinema history in a delightful outdoor tropical setting. Don't miss it.

An interesting history. If you are in town, take the time to have a wander through. It's an outdoor cinema- worth a visit and fun to watch current movies while sitting on deck chairs. You can feel the ghosts of patrons past.

You haven't had a great movie experience until you've been to Sun Pictures Cinema. A quirky old building with movie memorabilia in the foyer, a lady selling tickets from a tiny old fashioned box office, a lolly shop of course and deck chairs. Take something to sit on because the seats can be a bit hard on the bum after... More

Just a small feature, but very quirky and interesting early outdoor cinema. You can just wander in or arrange to see a movie there at night.

When in Broome you should really try to watch a movie at the Sun. Just for the fun of it, even if you are not a movie goer. Many people bring along cushions and blankets for greater comfort, but I found the chairs quite comfortable. You should bring along insect repellent, though, as there beasts around that bite.

Visited the Sun Pictures Cinema for the 6.15pm screening of The 100 Foot Journey. The cinema is old and quaint and a must do for a trip to Broome. The deck chairs are not the most comfortable but we sat on beach towels and that made all the difference. IT can get a bit cool in the evening so take... More
