Best visited with a local guide to grasp its place in Broome's early history ….the story is somewhat sad and somewhat humorous ; there is no doubt that if its walls could talk there would be many a tear shed ; there are written historic pieces about the building so you can usefully visit it solo .

The place welcomes you as you walk in the door. All types of old style movie projection equipment and cameras. Includes many signed photos of those great film stars of yesterday. Even fresh hot pop corn and lay back deck chairs. Great experience looking up at the stars above

We spent a wonderful evening watching cinema “old style” at the Sun Pictures. We had read previous reviews suggesting you take your own cushions for a bit of comfort and we did just that. Before the movie started we got a box of popcorn to share and a couple of drinks from the small candy kiosk. Two planes flew over... More

I'd never enjoyed an outdoor cinema prior to this night. It was a beautiful evening, quite a magical atmosphere. A must do while you are in Broome!

An excellent historical trip back in time. You can really feel time back then when you look around at all of the posters and historical equipment used in cinema. Brilliant

If you like to take in the Kimberly experience put this on the to do list I've been many times over the years I do recommend BYO aero guard & extra cushion & be ready for any flights into Broome as the plane does come over loud& low & usual during a peak moment during the movie but hey it... More

Sun Pictures Broome is a great place to go back in time and watch a movie sitting on a deck chair in the open air. The geckos crawling up the screen and the occasional plane flying directly over the cinema all adds to the experience. Would recommend taking some insect spray and perhaps wearing long pants and a long sleeve... More

It's well worth taking the time to visit the Sun Picture Cinema in Broome and experience an old open air country cinema. You can relax in deck chairs or take up a position on the grassy area in front of the big screen. If not entertained by the movie the occasional plane flying overhead ( within a stones throw )...
