Sun Pictures Broome is a great place to go back in time and watch a movie sitting on a deck chair in the open air. The geckos crawling up the screen and the occasional plane flying directly over the cinema all adds to the experience. Would recommend taking some insect spray and perhaps wearing long pants and a long sleeve... More

It's well worth taking the time to visit the Sun Picture Cinema in Broome and experience an old open air country cinema. You can relax in deck chairs or take up a position on the grassy area in front of the big screen. If not entertained by the movie the occasional plane flying overhead ( within a stones throw )... Although we did not stay for a movie (the mossies would eat me alive....) it was great to see the old cameras and machinery as well as old movie posters. For history buffs or those who remember the old drive-ins it's a must-see. One of the more interesting things to see in Broome. It's free to look around during the... More

it is really a great atmosphere for catching a film and the bats flying around really make it interesting. You also get the odd big plane fly overhead to land at the airport. A really different experience.

Great old time picture experience and a must visit if your visiting town. Get in the tardis and transport yourselfs back in time and watch movies in an old fashioned building with atmosphere. Easy parking outside not to expensive and normally plenty of seating and there are the traditional nibbles available at the kiosk. The deck chairs can be a... More

An absolute must when you visit Broome. So funny when the planes fly over head and you miss the punch line!

This Cinema is a great historical feature of the town. It is the longest operating picture gardens in the world and with the flight path into Broome being so close you cannot miss a memorable visit to the movies.

More interested in the theater than the movie Had to sit up the back for wheelchair space but did not know to take own pillow as had never been before Poor movie but hard to hear especially in the beginning but have since heard it was a tech glitch in the movie and not the fault of the theater

We stayed at the Roebuck across the road so we could walk to the Sun. I've read the other reviews and agree with the bats, frogs, planes and am happy to let you know there were some hard wooden park bench seats with thin foam cushions for people like me with arthritic knees who would struggle getting out of the...
