horizontal falls

remoteness and natural beauty. Rugged and the fact that it is only reachable by plane or boat ensures it stays pristine for generations to come.

Flew over the horizontal falls, which are like narrow breaks in rock which the large tides in Broome force water through creating a horizontal waterfall effect. It is a very cool sight, but would be even better to get close to it (e.g. in a boat). Aim to see them when the tides are high!

I was picked up just before dawn, feeling a little nervous as it was a very windy morning. We were briefed at the foot of the sea plane and I was lucky enough to be "co-pilot"! The pilot, Jeremy, was wonderful. Very professional and knowledgable. He flew us over Willie Creek, Beagle Bay, Cape Leveque and the onto Horizontal Falls.... More

A wonderful air safari with Kimberley Aviation allows amazing views of both falls and a spectacular vista to and from the falls. We circled in both directions and got excellent views of the powerful currents through the gorges. A recommended day flight excursion from Broome if you don't mind the price.

I thought when i saw the prices to do the Seaplane tour to this wonderful area, Whoa a bit high. However, when we landed at Cyclone bay, I felt we had already had our moneys worth. Then we had a cooked breakfast, Swam in the shark cage and boarded the boat out to the falls. So so happy that we... More

We viewed the horizontal falls while on a plane tour with Kimberley Aviation. It was so awe inspiring to see these falls and the Kimberley coast from the air, the fact that this area is so isolated and so beautiful made us appreciate the experience of seeing it so much of a privilege. We must have taken a 1000 photos,... More

When I visited Horizontal Falls, they were unfortunately not flowing. Nevertheless, the experience was still amazing. The nature was ruggedly beautiful and unique. If you get the chance, definitely go check it out!
