Not well publicized, these reefs and islands are magical from the air with the only sign of human habitation the small cray fishing huts on some of the barren islands. It was way more scenic from the air than I was expecting. At ground level they look a bit like the starker bits of Rottnest Island.

The Abrolhos Islands lay around 70km's off the Geraldton Coast line and are accessible by Air Charter or boats. The 122 islands that make up the Abrolhos archipelago are simply stunning and mainly untouched. The islands sit in the Leeuwin current which means that coral reefs thrive there. Snorkeling is simply amazing. We took a flight over and saw humpback... More

Great clean waters in with 130 islands to just off the coast of Geraldton. Great fishing and lobster abound the area. Catch squid of an evening or relax with a cold beer as the sun settles in the water. They have flights and cruises to the four island groups, Southern group being the closest. A must see if you are... More

I traveled to and landed on the Abrolhos Islands in September with Geraldton Air Charters. The flight out and back exceeded any expectations that I had. We flew over breaching humpback whales, a manta ray, and then swooped low over the lobster fishing villages on the southern and middle groups of islands before landing at East Wallabi for a guided... Just returned from a 5 day cruise to the Abrolhos Islands off Geraldton in WA and what a thoroughly captivating experience it was. Our interest in these islands stemmed primarily from a desire to learn more about the shipwreck Batavia and we could not have chosen a better way of achieving that than by travelling on board the Eco Abrolhos... I visited these islands some 20 years ago. As far as I am aware, there were (are?) no 'tours' as such, although you may be able to arrange private charter vessels. East and West Wallabi Islands are historically important, and it was amazing to sail by Morning Reef (the site of the wreck of the Batavia). Diving is not much,... More

Lifetime memories and amazing dives for experienced divers amongst enormous bodies encrusted with hard and soft corals. Massive schools of huge Spanish mackerel, coral trout, lionfish, sharks, nudibrances, crayfish, angelfish, clown fish and anemones. Image Dive was the company we went to the islands with for a four night live aboard. All food and air fills included. Luke and Paul... More

Simply the Best! Just returned from a 5 day charter to the Abrolhos Islands aboard the "Eco Abrolhos". The owners Jay and Geoff along with all the crew are easy going and do everything to ensure a fun filled, laid back, truly memorable adventure. The boat, the amenities and the full service bar are first rate. Having a beer, watching... More

We loved our fabulous cruise around the Abrolhos Islands, such an unspoilt tourism experience. Very comfortable ensuited cabins with well appointed saloon and dining areas. Chef Don did a great job with fresh product from the sea which we helped to catch! Staff were attentive and offered great WA hospitality and friendliness. Good to learn of the Dutch history and... Great fishing trip with some excellent snorkelling spots (dive if you can), caught more than our fill of dhufish, bald chin groper and spangled emperor and stuffed ourselves on crayfish. Combined with the story of the Batavia shipwreck it was also a very interesting trip. The staff were laid-back and friendly and the chef was superb.
