Just a short tram ride away from Flinders Station. Head there mid morning and stroll along the stalls of local handy crafts, wander up the pier, grab an ice cream. Come back and walk up and down the shops on Acland St. Stop and have lunch at one of the cafe's along the way. A pleasant way to spend a... More

The beach is located only 30 mins away from the city, and you can easily go there by trams. If the weather is good, it is the place to go to soak up the sunshine and dip in the ocean. Apparently, the bar on the beach has happy hour between 5pm to 6pm, which is definitely a plus!

A visit to St Kilda beach almost feels like you have stepped back in time. The long jetty with a cafe on the end has a Brighton England feel to it. Views over Port Phillip Bay are spectacular. A lovely place to while away a few hours.

This beach is currently where all of the travellers go. It feels a bit like a Spanish beach resort. Is that a bad thing? It's all in the eye of the beholder I suppose. The beach itself is nice and the water is calm. There is, however, precious little shade. And given how hot it gets in Melbourne it's therefore... More

This is the only beach in the city and its in a funky happening area great for restaurants and bars etc. better to just go to see the bay rather than try and swim. A few miles down there are plenty of smaller beaches that are far cleaner and then about 20 miles away there's also the ocean off the... More

I was staying in St. Kilda in the end of January and it was quite busy! But that didn't stop my fun in the sun, laying and relaxing listening to the ocean sounds.

Well it was a little too cold and windy the day we went to the beach particularly because my husband insisted on going early in the morning but anywho, I walked along the beach past some of the shops and restaurants like beachcombers the walk was nice. There's nothing like put your toes through some good sand. We sat on... More

Nice city beach... not the best beach in the world and certainly can see nice if you head towards the great ocean road but nevertheless spent many days here in the summer of 2009/2010 when temp hit 40 degrees. St Kilda is a bit of a dodgy area with many prossies and homeless people but i was never bothered by... More
