Me and my husband decided to go to St Kilda beach and check it out. Actually the beach itself wasn't as happening as we expected it to be even though the sun was out and it was quite a breeze. I did love the breeze and quite long walk on the pier. It can be quite a peaceful place for... More

If you have children this is the perfect location to visit. Easy to get to via tram from Melbourne CBD with wide walkway areas for kids to run around and play in the sand. There are playgrounds available nearby to help the kids burn off some energy. There is also Luna Park closeby which is excellent 'kid-like' fun!

Walked along beach. Many eating places. Explored to end of pier where there is a cafe/restaurant with a history attached to it. Lovely to witness the sun setting and watch for the little penguins appearing from the breakwater rocks and witness the heroics of a water mouse ( rhakali).

I am from Queensland so I have higher expectations than most of a beach. I think that the beach was very average but there was a lot to do in the area of St Kilda - places to snack at cafes or drink at bars and there was also a market as well. It seems pretty quiet most of the... More

Always enjoy the atmosphere of St.Kilda and the highlight is always a stroll along the St Kilda beach. Beautiful scenery with restaurants and cafés nearby for a cup of coffee and watching the world go by. Recommended to experience the beauty of St.Kilda.

We were staying on St Kilda road & went to St Kilda Beach for a walk along the boardwalk to the pier. It was a beautiful autumnal day not many people around or places open but we really enjoyed the trip.

We stayed in St Kilda for. 2 nights in June and its was wonderful and relaxing away from the city. As it was winter most things like the cafes on the beach and Luna park were closed , however you can imagine how nice they would be in summer . Lovely clear sea with lots of people paddle boarding. Nice enough beach, and I went as a lone traveller on a mid-week day and had no problem at all finding a decent space to relax in and chill out. Not much in the way of amenities (a bonus in my books) so make sure that you have everything that you need to hand before you come down. If you... More

So today was Labor day and as a lone tourist in Melbourne had to find something to do. Went to St Kilda Beach for the day. Popular beach that offers a good place for soaking up the sun. There are some restaurants on the strip. The beach is clean and it was not too crowded.
