Went there together with friends, my expectation were very high I assume but I was slightly disappointed, all in all you can go around in 15 min and see everything. Depends on the theme day there will be several stall selling food, drinks and small souvenirs and than there are parcels with tulips. Maybe good to see once in a... More

The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is one of my favourite Spring Festivals in the Victoria Region. It's about an hour drive from the city and it's located in Monbulk Road, Silvan Victoria. It's held between mid September to mid October or sometimes a little bit earlier depending on the weather and the opening of the blooms of the earlier variety of... More

Every September Tesselaars have an amazing Tulip Festival, with amazing colour and gardens, music and food. The weekend I went was Celtic weekend with live music all day in the sun or shade of beautiful established garden area. Ideal day out for everyone, young and old. This is approx 1 hour drive from city in the Yarra Hills. Plenty of... More

we arrived early just about 1/2 hr after its opening time at 10 a.m. Lots of cars are already at the carpark. Spent more than 2 hours there admiring the tulips, sculptures and played some Dutch traditional games. A great place for kids and a person dressed as a tree fairy hiding on the tree near the wishing well. Bring... More

Spent a couple of hours at the tulip festival and enjoyed the colourful display. There was a quite a bit happening as it was kids week.

As my parents were visiting from Brisbane and are of Dutch Heritage I thought I would be a treat to take them to Tesselaars Tulip Festival. From the Western Suburbs it was about a 1.5 hour pleasant scenic drive. I agree with a lot of the other reviewers that the entry fee is excessive and more so for families. I... More

We arrived at around 10.30 and didn't have to wait too long to get tickets (we left at around 1pm and the ticket line was then quite long). The $22 per person ticket was pretty expensive. The flowers are pretty, but there's only so long you can look at them for! They have a tractor ride around the length of... More

The displays of tulips were OK but many had been damaged by children. Food was expensive although there were plenty of stalls. All in all, not great value for money, considering it's really just row upon row of European flowers, not Australian native ones.

Been waiting for years to go to Tesselaar's and finally got to do so so. I love tulips, and the colourful rows of them were lovely and appreciated (but to be honest I thought there would be a lot more of them than there were). We had some tea in the Tulip Cafe which was basically a big tent crammed... More

We went on a Saturday. Bought my tickets online because I had read about the long queues, but surprisingly there were no long queues at the ticket booth nor traffic jam leading to the festival. That weekend was Dutch theme and we reached there about 10.30am. Considering the rave I had read online, it was not what I had imagined.... More
