On a beautiful evening the Sidney Myer Music Bowl is the most spectacular concert venue. I've seen two concerts here this year and was lucky enough to have perfect weather on both occasions, so it was amazing. We selected to sit in the seated area so got a great close up view. The sound is superb, the shape of the... More

The Myer Music Bowl was funded by the late Sydney Myer, one of Australia's great philanthropists. The open air bowl is used throughout the year for concerts and performances. Candles by Candlelight, one of Melbourne's most loved events, is held there every year before Christmas. Sidney Myer founded the Myer department store chain. The Mural Hall in the Myer Bourke... Didn't know it was on but what a pleasant surprise. Fantastic venue, shaped as indicated so every seat is a good one. The view is great, the sound was a bit 'patchy' which was surprising as it was quite a still night. Very enjoyable outdoor venue all the same, certainly superior to the Domain in Sydney which hosts similar events.... More

This is a popular family-friendly venue for concerts and special events, especially pre-Christmas and on summer evenings in January and February. (There are both free events and commercial ones.) I recommend arriving early enough to secure undercover seats near the stage, but there are other folk who like to sit/lie on the grass under the sky. The Bowl is a... More

I recently saw one of my favourite bands here and was extremely impressed with the natural amphitheatre style design that allowed for awesome acoustics and great viewing. Would highly recommend checking the music bowl out even if the attraction isn't something you would usually be into, it's a really cool venue.

The Myer Music bowl is Melbourne's best semi outdoor venue. It is slightly hidden behind the grassy banks of the park beside St Kilda Rd. Once within the grounds there is a huge grassy bank sloping down to the amphitheatre at the bottom. There is proper seating once you are undercover. Many people bring picnics but be aware there are... More

Love the fact that we can enjoy excellent music and even ballet for free. Fun to sit on the grass (take a cushion) and have a picnic with friends before the show.

I just attended a concert at Sidney Myer Music Bowl today and I found this place a superb choice for concerts. A great view of city and just next to Royal Botanic Gardens , it's a place to relax and enjoy the music. Overall, it's a unique avenue which definitely worth a visit.
