This is a popular family-friendly venue for concerts and special events, especially pre-Christmas and on summer evenings in January and February. (There are both free events and commercial ones.) I recommend arriving early enough to secure undercover seats near the stage, but there are other folk who like to sit/lie on the grass under the sky. The Bowl is a... More

I recently saw one of my favourite bands here and was extremely impressed with the natural amphitheatre style design that allowed for awesome acoustics and great viewing. Would highly recommend checking the music bowl out even if the attraction isn't something you would usually be into, it's a really cool venue.

The Myer Music bowl is Melbourne's best semi outdoor venue. It is slightly hidden behind the grassy banks of the park beside St Kilda Rd. Once within the grounds there is a huge grassy bank sloping down to the amphitheatre at the bottom. There is proper seating once you are undercover. Many people bring picnics but be aware there are... More

It was good to have free concerts in summer evening with your teacher and friends! I miss those days!

Love the fact that we can enjoy excellent music and even ballet for free. Fun to sit on the grass (take a cushion) and have a picnic with friends before the show.

I just attended a concert at Sidney Myer Music Bowl today and I found this place a superb choice for concerts. A great view of city and just next to Royal Botanic Gardens , it's a place to relax and enjoy the music. Overall, it's a unique avenue which definitely worth a visit.

I watched Arcade Fire perform on Wednesday night. Incredible. I'm from the UK and we simply don't have a space quite like this. Watching with the city on my left, and the lights from melbourne park on my right, really added to the ambience. A terrific venue. I am very jealous Melburnians!

In my opinion the best place to see music performed. Now cancelled Summadayze festival was played here, my favourite way to ring in the New Year. I've seen Swedish House Mafia and Kanye West play here as well, and the bowl set-up to the arena provides perfect viewing for pretty much the entire audience (provided you haven't picked the spot...
