you can download the app from the apple store under museum victoria's app, which can be heard offline. It takes you on a good walk around melbourne CBD, however while it is interesting, it's not as historical as I would have liked it to be.

My sister & I stumbled upon the Golden Mile discs one day in Melbourne and googled what it was all about. The next week, we did the walk, using the Museum Victoria's app. The guided walk was brilliant- we loved having the independence to make 'detours' for coffee stops and further exploration!! It's a brilliant piece of work and we... More

Myself and my husband did this walking tour with the delightful guide Ken. We were the only participants which meant Ken was able to answer all our questions and gave us extremely informative answers to our wide ranging topics. We really enjoyed our tour and when we told our Australian hosts what we had seen and found out they were... More

Dear 267Jacqui What a great review, your thoughtfulness on things that readers may like to hear is really appreciated. It is true that sometimes we have only a few people on a tour, and sometimes a maximum of 10. This particular walk - fully guided by Professional guides such as Ken, is a wonderful tour for locals, as we so... More

My 2 Girlfriends and I were fortunate enough to do this tour on a Saturday with our delightful guide Ken ... What a true gentleman! Ken took us on a 2+ hour walk and we were entranced by the tales and history behind some truly beautiful buildings. Our tour included Coliins St, Regent and Princess Theatres and up to the... More

I toured the Westend of the Golden Heritage Trail recently and I really enjoyed it. The guide was very knowledgeable and embellished the factual with many amusing stories . The tour concentrates on the early settlement of Melbourne, the Gold Rush times and the boom and bust periods throughout Melbourne's lifespan. A great way to see a side of Melbourne... More

As a Melburnian for 30 years, about 10 years ago I discovered the Golden Mile trail from the brass discs in the footpaths (sidewalks) and have wanted to do it for years. Thank goodness a friend from England came to Melbourne and I finally went on it. Lynne our tour guide was very good and was able to answer all... More

My husband and I recently walked the Golden Mile Heritage Trail on a Saturday...our only regret is that we only got to do the East End, as the West End isn't conducted on the weekends. Our guide, John, was very imformative and was able to answer any questions that were put before him. We have been to Melb many, many... More

I took this tour on my last day in Melbourne, which was a worst thing i've done. I should have taken this tour earlier on my trip so i could do both the western route and the eastern one. I did this tour at the end of last year. It was only me on the tour and I found the guide to be extremely lovely and very knowledgable. The tour was a little heavy on nthe architectural side but this was to be expected.
