The Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne is a great place to walk around especially for families with children. There are various cafes in and around the park. You are also free to plop anywhere you want and have a mini picnic. Our daughter loved running around and looking at the ducks in the pond. Its location is very close to... More

Ok. Nothing fab. They were digging so there was some tractor noise. Cooks cottage was interesting but the woman there said she couldn't tell us anything about it, as it wasn't her job-- she was in period dress only. Weird.

Good place for kids to play in the garden. Also can have good picnic. It's a relaxing place like any other beautiful garden. Must Visit during summer time. try spending at least half a day in the botanic gardens and good for photo session. Best way to reach here is public transport. If it's a big family than own car... The Tan is beloved part of Melbourne. Having done afternoon teas with visiting friends from out of town, Run Melbourne, BBQ picnics by the Yarra... every occasion can be made better by the scenery and the happy feels surrounding. Obviously, all of the above ideally takes place when the sun is shining.

Just a short walk from the city is the beautiful Botanical gardens. Took the opportunity to visit them whilst in Melbourne on business and so glad that I did. There is no entry fee to visit the gardens and they are really well maintained. I spent a good few hours walking around the gardens and really enjoyed myself. The selection... More

Leaving behind the Melbourne's skyline you can find the Royal Garden! It's really big with an immense number of trees and flowers from all around the world. There are many people who play, run, walk, read, eat along the lake and on the lawn. I recommend to rent a bike because it's impossible to visit it all by walk.
