As international tourist the spot did not made much impact on mind even though we have interest in Botany and we spend 2 to 3 hours in the area. If you are visiting Sydney its Botanical garden is much much better than this. Once you visit shrine of remembrance and have time it is better to do conducted tour starting... More

we used a cab and he just dropped us near one of the entrance gates. Since this is a large garden with lots of entrances the last thing you need is an excursion to get into the actual park. The park is a serene oasis with well kept trails and tended beds. There are two areas where food is available.... More

The botanical gardens are very nice , well maintained and Incredibly beautiful. But if you are backpacking there are a lot more impressive things to do in the city.

This was a wonderful green break from the busy city centre. There was even a champagne cart by the entrance. The gardens have been here since the mid 1880's, and has the trees to prove it.

An place you can easily go after work as it is just beside the city. The Tram Domain Change is about 5 mints walk away. Now it has moonlight cinema on so you can see people with blanket and picnic basket with them for an open air movie, how romantic it is!

Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens are spread out over quite a considerable area, and comprise mostly trees and open parkland. There is a very attractive lake at one end, with a good cafe. The highlight of our visit to the Botanics was seeing our first Kookaburra.

A wonderful oasis in the middle (almost) of Melbourne. Lots of greenery, interesting trees, beautiful flowers and one of best succulent displays we have seen anywhere (at Guilfoyle's Volcano). Other lovely places were the Ornamental Lake where you can have a bite to eat and take a boat ride (for a fee), the perennial border bed, and the Canna Bed... More
