On arrival we joined a small group for a tour through the house, old kitchen and storeroom all which were interesting, it was good seeing old kitchen gadgets on display. We then enjoyed our wander through the lovely diverse garden at the Rippon Lea estate. Especially liked the Monet inspired garden and bridges, climbing the lookout tower and resting on... more

This historic house and gardens was donated to the Victorian Branch of the National Trust many years ago. The home itself is both stately and inspiring, and visitors can either wander into or take a peek at most rooms. While the gardens do not completely block out every bit of traffic noise, they are well maintained and quite large given... more
