We attended a "function" organised within this historic building and even though the atmosphere was "party-time" there was still the creepy, eerie walls. No wonder Ned Kelly didn't attend many functions there!!

I really did like learning the history of this place. The only thing I wasn't too fussed on was the size. But then again, you can't make something like this bigger. We arrived just after a school group, so we were either held up behind them or racing to get in front of them most of the time, We didn't... More

Excellent tourist destination which gives you a glimpse into history. Do the watch house tour as well while you are there....the 'Sargeant' certainly enjoys his job! Good value

When we paid for our admission, I thought we would just see the old prison and some Ned Kelly artifacts. We were directed to wait for the "watch house tour" and had no idea what it was. We got a good idea once we started going through the booking process, but I still didn't really understand how long those holding... More

The police booking experience is particularly frightening when one realizes that the incredibly decrepit, dark and scary cells were in use until December 1994. The main prison is very well set up with visitors able to see death masks of various executed criminals in the cells they occupied and stand on the gallows where Ned Kelly was hanged. Worth seeing,... More

I found the old goal very eery but it was interesting and great to read different convicts stories including the infamous bushranger Ned Kelly and see their head masks. You can even try on a replica of Ned Kellys armour. Definietly worth a visit and look around.

This is a good attraction in that you leave with a feeling for what the place was like. You get a chance to visit the cells with many displays and afterwards you are put through a recreation of being arrested and locked up overnight some 50 or so years ago. Its pretty authentic and no you don't have to strip... More

From the moment you buy you buy your ticket, you truly get to know what it was like to be caught if you broke the law. You will go through the watch-house with the police sargeant and also get locked in a cell (if you dare). You will get to find out amazing stories and pictures of those who were... More
