Went with my sister and 11 month old baby. Set out can be confusing especially if you have a pram. If you miss the lift you'll have to walk back. It was really quick to get around and the staff were really helpful. Loved the colouring room, where your child can colour in a fish, scan it and it appears... More

This was our second visit and was much better than the first. Nothing wrong the first time around but there was some construction going on. It's really easy to get around and the exhibits are excellent. We all really enjoyed the 4D movie experience and would recommend it not be missed, although beware, it could have you jumping around.

Disappointed with Melbourne after having been to Sydney's aquarium. You cannot follow the route with a pram or wheel chair causing us to have to backtrack constantly to the lifts. If it wasn't for the giant crocodile we would have been really disappointed. Not pram friendly. Choose Sydney to visit an aquarium!

Thanks for the review! Sorry to hear that you found it difficult to navigate with your pram. We offer pram parking to those parents who wish to make their journey "pram free"! We also have a Tip's and Trick's leaflet for parents to take that gives advice for those with young kids, particularly in prams. Glad to see that you... More

i gave an average rating as i didn't take note of anything that i hadn't seen before back home. Everything was neat and clean. loved the divers in the shark tank. however we have it in SA. Overall. i don't think i'd go back to this attraction. However i was very relaxing and all the animals looked healthy.

My first visit in around 6 years, and I absolutely loved it. The penguins and sting-rays were my favourites, but everything else was also great! It is set up really well, you get guided from one thing to the next so you don't miss anything.

This is the place to see underwater life that is so colorful and closeup. Our grandchildren were awed and amazed by the color of the fish and the ability to see them swim overhead. It brought many smiles to their faces. I would recommend this visit for at least a 2 to 3 hour stay.

Animals DO NOT belong in captivity. This is a perfect example of animal cruelty that people are blind to. These animals that have been ripped from their family in the wild where the belong, are suppose to swim 1000s of kilometres every day, but sadly, they are limited to one small tank for the rest of eternity. Disgusting. ANIMALS ARE... More

Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear that this was not the experience that you hoped. Just to assure you, all our animal displays are designed for the animals who live them in mind. My two youngest children ages 12 and 10 and I had a day to spend seeing the sights of Melbourne before we left to go home. I asked them what they wanted to do. The aquarium was on the top of the list. We were there for three hours and we were never bored - not for a second. We... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
