A great place to spend the day learning about various aquatic animals.  The aquarium is very well organized with quite a good collection of marine species.  We especially liked the penguin enclosure and interactive time. The photo souvenir which you can buy at the end of the tour is a very nice touch.

We had Merlin Annual Pass , so this attraction was free for us but when we entered there was no one to notice! The Sydney aquarium is probably better than this in most of the cases, except in case of penguins. The Melbourne Aquarium has a large number of King and Gentoo Penguins. We went at the Penguin feeding time.... More

Definitely worthwhile going with it being well set up with multiple floors so that all space is used. Very informative with a great range of animals - don't forget your camera.

I love the life under the water and it's always great to take my kids there when visiting Melbourne.

As an inveterate visitor of aquariums this is the business. The progression from the more common fish to the scary ones is well managed. The lighting is stunning. The jelly fish floating inn their bright blue tank is a truly wonderful sight. Access for wheelchairs and prams is excellent. You can even touch a ray if you're brave.

I think for young kids it is worth it. Mine wanted to go back again the same afternoon! The aquarium seemed small in comparison to others I've been to, but the talks were informative, which made it worthwhile for me. There is also an area for kids to draw their own fish and put it on a large computer screen....they... More

We had a work function at 'the aquarium'. They provided a space, a set menu and the price per person was reasonable given that we could also take a look around the whole facility - without getting too lost. Very clourful, informative, beautiful and a wide variety of sea life. I'm not really into the incarceration of any animal life,... More

Very expensive day out, does not take long for you to walk around and have seen everything within 40 minutes. especially when there are kids pushing and shoving their way through with the parents not caring. not to mention finding parking in the city was ridiculous and ended up paying $40 for 2 hours. consider taking public transport for a... Exceeded my expectations in every way. The aquarium is sorted into zones that follow a path, with each providing a unique experience. Interesting and educational, and the penguins are too cute :-)
