This is a wonderful place to take children, an education in all things marine, however it's a very small area and it could cost less

On a rainy day in Melbourne this was a good pastime to see all the amazing sea creatures. It is nicely laid out for good viewing of all the tanks and a nice variety of different species.
The place is very small and you can view the entire place in about 2 hours. I didn't feel that it was worth the entry price
We visited Melbourne Aquarium and were disappointed to find that a very large portion of the facility is undergoing renovation. There are no notices informing customers of the renovation nor do they offer a discount, although I did hear afterwards if you complain they will give a small refund. The staff were VERY passionate about working there and delighted to share what they knew - it was really nice to see in a big city where people can tend to be very distant.
The butterfly was my favourite -...

Having been to several aquariums around the world, Melbourne's doesn't really hold up. Small and overpriced I thought. I guess if it's the only aquarium you've been to you wouldn't realise how unimpressive it is.
