This is a great value family attraction. It is only 21 dollars or so for a family of 4 to visit. Children are actually able to pet the animals - plus abbotsford convent isn't far away for some extra sight seeing and lunch at Lentil as Anything.

We live in Melbourne and visit this farm from time to time. The kids love interacting with the animals and being in the middle of the city but feeling like they are in the country at the same time. One thing I consistently find with every visit is how rude and dismissive the staff can be. It's actually quite embarrassing... More

All this so close to the city. Took my kids here for my daughters second birthday and before she went to bed she said 'I had fun with the animals'. I think that sums up her day. We went through the farm twice as the kids just loved the animals. Trying to chase the ducks and roosters. In the big... More

A sanctuary of green countryside less the 4km from the city. The Children's farm is located beside a bend in the Merri Creek and is a wonderful opportunity to milk cows, pat sheep and horses and forget about city living for a while. The city circle walking and cycling trail passes right by and Abbotsford Convent is just next door.... More

I won't be exaggerating if I say I have been here with the kids in tow about ten times. We love this place - a slice of the country at the city fringe. A ust-see for urbanite kids and parents. We were frequent visitors back then when we lived in Melbourne, and on this trip back (the kids are now... More

What a brilliant place for families to visit. I was amazed at this farm an how close it is located to the city for people to experience farming life. It offered the opportunity to get up close and personal with farm animals and discover the wonder of nature. I arrived late in the afternoon so missed a couple of the... More

Collingwood Children's Farm is a not-for-profit city farm just 5kms from the centre of the city and the site is an important part of Melbourne's history. A working farm, where families are not only able to observe, but also experience farm life in an urban context, is a priceless asset. The farm represents a valuable community and educational resource. Children... More

I sometimes jog from Melbourne Zoo to Collingwood Children's farm, as it has the most rewarding farm cafe to have lunch at. The food is amazing, and it has really gone gourmet recently. The farm is situated right near river and also the capital city trail, making it a perfect place to stop over while touring around the outer areas... More

This place is probably the biggest rip-off I have ever experienced. It is $8 per adult entry (which cost us $32 for 4 adults) - we only went to show the farm animals to our 2 year old grandson. We went in and out of there in an hour - every paddock had no animals in them, we only got... More

My 21 month old daughter loved being able to get up close and personal with the farm animals, and we loved being able to get her on a horse. The staff were lovely and accommodating. 2 things I didn't like, the carpark requiring payment before you enter was a pain, would make more sense to me to have it on... More
