Go for the goats

Looking to step into your innocence again? This is the perfect place to do so..... .cows,.horses,chickens,lambs, goats,peacocks...farmers' market and a very cosey farm cafe...natural surroundings by the river do not disappoint...in the inner city whatsmore! My dawn walk is through this precinct and it is an everyday delight.

I have been taking my children to this farm for a few years now. It's great in many ways, but the killer is the rude and child unfriendly staff that work there. It is a children's farm after all, and most of the staff, bar one or two have no personality and have no clue how to deal with kids.... More

This was a fun day out with toddlers. Pretty low key, and fairly basic. But quite a few animals to get to see close up and personal, especially the goats who enjoyed being fed from tree shoots from the other side of the fence! Cafe pricy and fairly limited. Worth taking your own refreshments.

Although this place is hard to find, it's well worth it. I went with a couple and their kids, and it was a lovely day had by all. You literally feel like you're in the country but you're only 20 minutes from the CBD. The kids loved it because they got to pet all the animals, and it was very... More

We attended a wedding here and thought the grounds were beautiful. Great setting. The food was quirky and tasty and much was served in Maison jars. Due to the large crowd, this wasn't a sit down menu but grazing food over many hours. Great spot for music, dancing, playing skittles and bocce.

I know Collingwood Children's Farm very well and would say that it is one of the best farms in Melbourne. Kids can get up close with the animals in a beautiful environment, just minutes from the CBD. There are cows, chickens, goats, horse, guinea pigs, etc. the staff are all very knowledgable and friendly. There is a cafe here but... More

It has a good range of animals for the kids to look at. They can get amoungst the animals and give them pats and feed them. My son's favourite area is the guinea pigs, as you can put them on your lap and hold them. The staff are very friendly and helpful. But - i have to say - the... More

Real working farm, so don't expect cornered animals ready to patting! However it was good for the little one to experience what she's neem reading in books LIVE. We were free to roam to most corners and the cafe seems popular with local cyclist and visitors alike.
