We were picked up promptly at our hotel by Jeremy, who was just great in taking us around all day. We were gone about 11 hours and did the tour of the Ocean Road. First, Jeremy is personable, knowledgeable, and a good driver, keeping us on pace and always driving safely. In spite of the morning drizzles, we found koalas... More

We ended up with a private tour for the 2 of us with our guide, Marty. Our guide, while new was really wonderful and very engaged in meeting our tour interest. We traveled in a private SUV, so the travel was extremely comfortable. Our stops included the Split Point lighthouse then onto Apollo Bay for lunch. So glad that Marty... More

Phillips Island tour. Fred, our guide, was a great talkative leader. Very long day but fun. Worth the time because the Penguins are a real gas.

The Platypus Tour from Oceania is well worth the splurge, as it's a unique experience (further explained below) and Jeremy, our guide for the day, was fantastic. Working with Sebastian of Oceania, I'd slightly modified the tour's schedule in advance; he was very accommodating and helpful. Jeremy was a very knowledgeable and cheerful guide, and as an added bonus he... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
