It's a great stadium to watch any sporting event. Easy access, near to public transport (a nightmare if you are driving there to the game via the City). The only problem is the F&B pricing. They are there to rip you off and you thought Patong or Kuta beach vendors are the worst. Some $9 for a glass of Red... More

This was fantastic! especially with the roof in place to keep the elements out. That said it can get cold. Really close to the action and with a close game a really worthwhile thing to do in Melbourne. Food and drinks well priced. Tickets are more expensive than the MCG.

Went along to see the Bombers beat West Coast by 3 pts (home team lucky). Access, ticketing, entry, seating, toilet facilities, catering all first class. Only complaint was for a $40 seat had a point post directly in sight - very difficult to see action at other end of the ground and although the roof was shut there was a... More

In winter,Docklands (Etihad) Stadium is used mostly for Aussie rules footy games (AFL). The retractable roof is generally closed for afternoon games so that the shadows cast do not play havoc with the players' view or the TV coverage. However, the only certainty is that the roof will be closed when it is raining or rain forecast. The circular stadium... More

Our first visit....Great stadium, you feel very close to the action. We could hear the players talking and the bounce of the ball etc.......as a viewing stadium it is the best I have been to for AFL, the closest to this I have experienced is Suncorp Stadium Brisbane (NRL Rug y League) The amenties were great, the food good..for a... I have gone to Etihad for both football and rugby and no matter where I sit I have a great view of the game... lots of choices for food and drink both inside the stadium and surrounds pre game... easy to get to and quick to exit

A different experience to the famous MCG, watching Australian Rules Football or Rugby at docklands you will find yourself seemingly closer to the action. Another plus with this stadium is the closing roof which on a cold & wet Melbourne day can be a blessing. The stadium is clean, staff are friendly and rail & tramways are nearby.
