We hired a campervan for a few days and drove from Melbourne to Port Fairy then up into the Grampians, we stopped at geelong, lorne, Apollo bay, Port Campbell and saw things like the 12 apostles, erskine falls, loch ard gorge - so many places I can't get them down quick enough. The road is heavily travelled and well sign... More

I went to the Great Ocean Road via Autopia Day Tours on GOR one-day tour service. It was an amazing experience. You'll find it worth all the tiring long journey down to the road. I enjoyed the trip through the Lorne, Anglesea, Cape Patton, Apollo Bay, ancient rainforest walk (Otway), The Twelve Apostles, Loch and gorge, London Bridge. Make sure... More

We hired a car and did a road trip from melbourne along great ocean road to the twelve apostles. The view was breath taking - the ocean right beside the road interspersed with cute villages and cafes. Recommend taking 2 days to do this drive - we stayed in apollo bay after seeing the 12 apostles. The road from apollo... More

From the beginning to the end of this tour, it was amazing! We saw some wonderful sights, including koalas and birds (including a Kookaburra) in their natural habitat. We even saw a koala walking across the road in front of our van during the day, which is very unusual, because they normally sleep during the day, and this happened in... More

Wonderful to see all the sights along the GOR after an absence of nearly 20 years. Surprised though to note just how much walking is required to see the 12 Apostles /Loch Ard Gorge/ Thunder Cave / The Arch. In the old days the carparks were near the sights but not anymore. Fine for fit and able people but the... More

Was going to visit with a tour company that does the double, Apostles/Penguins. So glad we didn't. Hired a car and stayed overnight in Port Campbell, the drive an unforgettable experience. The weather was ideal, rain and wind helped to explain the shipwreck history. Love the stories of the road builders, the clipper Loch Ard and London Bridge. It's tempting... More

This is a must do activity in Melbourne. You can either rent a car or follow tour. We rented a car and drove all the way from Melbourne up to Port Campell. There are many stops along the road for scenery as well as towns for a night rest or food. Do stop for the Cape Otway Lighthouse. You might... More

It does not matter if you are a nature lover or a city dweller you will fall in love with Great Ocean Road if you go for a drive. This is where mountains meet Ocean. The drive is one of the best thing you would ever do. Apart from the drive you will be amazed with the formation of The... More

We rented a mobilehome and drove from Melbourne to Adelaide via Great Ocean Road, stopping at Kenneth River and Peterborough overnight. Kenneth River is a very small seaside town, halfway between Lorne and Apollo Bay. It is popular mainly because it is one of the best places to spot koalas in the wild. We spotted koalas, kookaburra, king parrots, rosellas... More
