This was on my bucket list being the biggest war memorial in the world. The road is in need of repair but overall it was a great drive with fantastic views of the water and coast. Plenty of nice little towns to check out on the way.

We visited the Great Ocean Road in December 2013 and to our astonishment it was very cold and windy. We didn't think this was possible in Australia, but although the cold temperatures we had a good time here. Our highlights were 'The Twelve Apostles', 'Loch Ard', and 'London Bridge'. At Loch Ard we spent most of our time. This shipwreck... More

Hubby and i booked this day tour through one of my travel agent friend. Strongly recommended by her. It's about 12hours day tour and we booked a premium lunch deal as well. The lunch was really decent and premium. The view was absolutely stunning and impressive. Nice driver, free morning tea. A very good day.

This was so freaking beautiful. The 12 Apostles, the coast, the koala park, the penguin march on Philip island, rainforest walk et., et., . I highly recommend this attraction. You cannot go to Melbourne without driving the great ocean road.

My husband and I have just completed a car trip of the Great Ocean Road from Adelaide to Melbourne. What a great experience. We walked the tracks to all the lookouts. PLEASE TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE. A must do trip.

I would highly recommend the Great Ocean Road as a destination, the coastline is magnificent even in Winter... If coming from the Melbourne/Geelong direction I would also consider the alternative route through Winchelsea and then on to Deans Marsh as the drive through the hills and bushland is beautiful and well worth it.. Road joins into the Great Ocean Road... More

Number 1. Teddy's Lookout at Lorne (not signposted but the locals will direct you - you will need your own car, although it is nearly in the town) - gives you a stunning birds eye view over the Great Ocean Road and the coastline. Number 2. Bay of Martyrs just past Peterborough ( is as good or better than the... More

A long and very impressive drive. Make sure you are comfortable driving and take your time. Numerous stops on the way - beaches, towns, parks, nature - you can spend half a day or a couple of weeks exploring the surroundings. Make sure you breathe in the spirit and remember those who built this and those for whom this was... More

We were lead to believe that a great start to the Ocean road drive was Adelaide from where we started our 3 day drive to Melbourne stopping overnight at Robe and Apollo Bay . I would not recommend this. The great ocean road is pretty scenic but does not start anywhere near Adelaide ,indeed we drove (excluding various stops) for... More
