It was hilarious, a little confronting but nothing an open mind wouldn't fix! Go and see the Uni Review, the actors are very talented and the show will make you laugh no matter how cranky a mood.

The acoustic and ambience of this old old lady of the theatre should be a must for tourists. I bet ALL the locals have been here already. WE love her.

A intimate and wonderful small theatre which attracts big names. A real gem in Hobart. The 'backspace' is upstairs and can get very warm but you are part of the stage and it's a great performance space. The theatre proper is quite beautiful and host a diverse range of events

A visit to Hobart should definately include taking in a Theare tour or if you're lucky, one of the wonderful plays performed here. The atmosphere is magical, cosy and inviting. It's no wonder that great actors have loved playing here - Hobartians are very lucky to have the Royal.

A beautiful little theatre with loads of history and some believe a resident ghost. Ive seen many shows here over the years. The theatre holds a special place in the hearts of many Hobartians

One of the most beautiful small theatres in Australia. Saved from demolition by the concerns expressed by Sir Laurence Olivier & Vivian Leigh, when they came to Hobart with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the early 1950's. The oldest theatre in Australia still operating. A rare jewel indeed.

Tasmania' oldest live theatre that has seen the worlds best actors and entertainers over the years. Names spring to mind like Sir Laurence Olivier and his wife at the time Vivien Leigh ( Scarlet Ohora in Gone with the Wind
