We explored Battery Hill on foot and were thoroughly impressed. Thoroughly enjoyed walking as we were able to take in the architecture and local gardens. A visit to Arthur Circus and Hampton Road is a must.

Interesting walks or drives through streets lined with distinctive and historic buildings with occasional glimpses of the lovely Derwent River. A charming stroll en route to Salamanca Place.

A trip to Battery Point to view some of Hobart's oldest architecture, including Arthur Circus, St George's Church which is splendid, and many other quaint old buildings scattered in and around the main section of the village is a must when in Hobart. Easy walking and very close to the heart of Hobart itself.

Battery Park has character. Most streets and foot paths are narrow giving a cosy feel. The older buildings ooze with charm, perfect for a stroll on a nice day.

Lovely place in summer and is an enjoyable place to... More

We ventured to Battery Point a couple of times during our few days in Hobart. It makes a nice change strolling to this neighbourhood, away from the waterfront and the city, to experience the beautifully preserved houses, quirky road lay-outs and individual cafes and businesses. We would go to Battery Point just for the indulgent delights on offer at Jackman... More

This is a fantastic area to wander around and see convict history at its best. I took about 65 photographs and that means is was worth your while! The area is very steep and some streets were avoided with our mobility scooters they would just not make it up hill and we were not going to push them. I am... More

Just stunning. Beautiful cafes. Friendly locals. Great parks and walking areas. Stone's throw from Salamanca Markets. Exciting area - cosmopolitan but family friendly. Cannot wait to get back.
