We did a self-guided walk after obtaining the brochure from the information office. It was good fun trying to determine which were the sculptures! But interesting, past lovely cottages & CSIRO ship etc. Good exercise too!

The historic whalers cottages in Arthur's Circle overlooking the lush park, and the beautiful stone cottages of Battery Point seem to be hidden amongst the roses. What a sight to behold. Walking through the narrow streets exploring old Hobart, and sipping coffee at one of the many places on offer was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. At night... More

We walked up to battery point from Salamanca place and it can be quite tiring as we were walking up the steep road. At battery point, you can see pretty buildings and houses.

Beautiful period architecture that has been left in all its glory!!!!! Walk the streets around here, before dropping into Salamance for some lunch and a few drinks!!!!! Or grab a pie from the bakery in the Main Street of Battery Point!!!!! Tip, if you enjoy Rose Gardens, visit around November because they are in abundance in the residents gardens!!!!! Amazing!!!!!

Colonial houses, large and small, all with beautiful gardens especially in Spring. Easy self guided walking with good river views and cafés for top up refreshments. Makes Hobart a special place

Walking around Battery Point was entrancing. Row upon row of lovely nineteenth century cottages brimming with rose filled gardens. What do they feed their roses? So fecund and prolific - it fills your heart with joy. It was the perfect place to stop and smell the roses. We walked around Arthur's Circus and admired the symmetry of the space. We... More

The houses and shops remind me so much of England. A unique and beautiful area. We ate at a restaurant in Battery Point.

What a quaint place to visit - very old time with beautiful old houses and shops around the whole area. Well worth a stroll around the streets and then walk around the sea wall for views around the waterway. A good way to spend a couple of hours.
