A thoroughly enjoyable morning walking through the historic streets via the integrated Art installations that blend the history through contemporary message. We came across several Inns and B&B places. A winter visit, you feel tat it would have a great buzz in summer( especially around Sydney Hobart race time)

Quaint little neighborhood with many winding streets and period brick cottages lining them. Fun to walk around and lots of very unique shops and restaurants.

Walk and sightsee and stop and have a coffee and cake at Jackman & McRoss - wonderful cafe with fabulous coffee and cakes. Didn't try the lunches but they looked and smelt wonderful. Great thing to do after a mornings shopping at the Salamanca markets. Several lovely gift shops and antique stores. I bought a book from one "what the... More

We rented here for 9 months after moving from Melbourne, and still continue to go back to visit cafes and restaurants. It has a great small village feel, with not too much traffic and a wonderful range of heritage buildings, ranging from tiny whalers' cottages to grand mansions. A walk along the haphazard network of streets provides a good history... More

Loved walking around this area! Charming homes - gorgeous century+ old architecture - look for Arthur Circle - the cutest cottages built around a circular park.

Dating back so many years, Battery Point is a place of history. A walk through the streets is relaxing & there's many photo opportunities, particularly if you like to snap pics of old houses & signs. As a local I like to walk through here & I always take my camera. I love the area.

What a wonderful part of Hobart Battery Point is to explore. Head up the stairs from Salamanca Markets and walk the streets. The pubs are nice to visit but make sure you don't miss Jackman and Ross cafe.
