I liked the pleasant walk through Salamanca Market and Princess Park, even though it was a short one. I didn't like the fact that Errol Flynn's home, and the beach commemorated to him, wasn't on the map anywhere. I found the beach by accident and never did see his home. :(

For us, battery point was a lost opportunity. Amazing architecture and buildings. Nice little streets - - - but we thought more could be done to bring the history of Tasmania and the area to life through shop fronts, character and information.

Battery Point is a short walk from Salamanca Square, or take the shortcut up the steps at Kelly's Place. Lovely buildings, an art trail, the Shipwrights Arms hotel and the best bakers on the planet.

This is a lovely area to take a walk through and enjoy all the old buildings, quirky streets and few nice restaurants. Enjoy on a lazy day.

I lived at Barrack point in 1953. It has not changed except for new paint. Its frozen in time which is great and a wonderful example of early Hobart residentential real estate.

It is always lovely to take a walk around Battery Point. The houses change a little bit over time. Not sure about the shocking orange they have decided to paint the community hall. Shame that a developer got into the old Queen Alexandra Hospital and made a mismatch of units, got rid of the lovely garden etc. It just looks... More

Loved the well preserved homes, churches and businesses. We spent 2 hour walking around the streets and down to the waterfront then stopping for a cool drink at one of the 2 hotels we came across. Great afternoon.

It is great to see a suburb that has kept all it's history by maintaining original houses of the late 1800's to the early 1900's the detail, architecture & stained glass feature windows all take you back to a by gone era ..the current proud owners of these houses have and are looking after these houses for our future generations...
