We rode our bikes on the Mt. Wellington tour through the grounds of this local brewery. The gardens are stunning, I wish I had been in Hobart longer so I could have gone back and visited the brewery itself and seen more of the public areas.

Sitting in the afternoon sun in the stunning gardens, sipping a Cascade beer and listening to mello music... Does it get better?

The Cascade Brewery is very well set out with the traditional old brewery building and the silos on one side of the road, and the tasting / restaurant area on the other, they do guided tours, make sure you are dressed appropriately. The tasting board of the six varieties was excellent, lucky I wasn't the driver.

It's hard to believe that the old cascade brewery is OH&S compliant in today's day and age but it's still a working brewery and if you want to learn about the beer making process and see where it's done then come down to cascade. The taps at the bar must not be cleaned too often cos the beer there was... More

Cascade Brewery is nestled amongst the hills just out of Hobart city. Beautiful spot. We had a lovely warming lunch in their cafe, some browsing in their shop, before we headed off on our tour. Our guide was helpful, informative and charming. Tour was a lot of fun. At the end of the tour we got to try two beverages.... More

Unfortunately our tour was on a weekend which meant the brewery was not in full production so we missed seeing the bottling plant in operation and had to be content with a video presentation for this. The walk around the rest of the factory (where we were allowed to go) was interesting and our fun guide told us some very... More

I learned a lot from this beer tour. The founder was kind of backed into making beer due to the location of his business property, which was where the water is of the best quality. Fire also plays a historical part. There are other quirks.. I love this beer, having had it last year on the Indian Pacific Railroad that... More

There is nothing better than on a beautiful day to see how beer is made and then enjoy lunch and sampling in the garden.

The Cascade Brewery tour, tasting and lunch in the beer garden was a great tourist activity as well as an educational experience. The Cascade building itself is a wonderful landmark. The beer tasting at the end of the tour is great fun and a good way to taste a few different types of beer. The Red Decker Bus city tour... More
