Lovely grounds gardens and old buildings. Took the tour, it was short and to the point, in reality it was as exciting as watching beer brew. Not sure what people expect. Making beer really is not that exciting. Collect ingredients, cook, stand, bottle & ship. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and I thought she covered the process well and... More

If you have kids under 16 there isn't a lot of point visiting the brewery as they cannot go on the tours. However, I still like to look at the main building from the outside.

We walked from Salamanca up to the brewery along the river walk which was very pleasant and worked up a great thirst. Dave took us on a heritage tour which if you have been on plenty of brewery tours this was a nice change and gave us the complete history. The beer pouring competition was an added bonus and topped... More

With children, you can't tour the actual brewery, but you can do a family tour. The tour was interesting, but pricey. You get drink tokens for your admission fee so if you drink them all you can get your moneys worth - 3 per adult, 1 per child. You can "win" tokens on the tour with a quiz, so again...... More

Did a tour of Cascade brewery Hobart on 2/1/2015 The building itself is quite spectacular, especially, from the outside, with Mt Wellington in the background. 10 minutes into the tour, the guide said the brewery was not in production, due to the break during the holidays: This wasn't mentioned on the web site, or when we were booking the tour.... We had under 16s so we went on the Heritage tour which caters for fillies. Once I'd survived the ticket purchase from the surly cashier who needs to take some time to consider if she is on the right career path, we met our guide. What a contrast! Although the heritage tour doesn't go through the brewery, the tour was... More

If I had read the reviews on TA first I might have known to wear long pants and covered shoes. Never mind we endured borrowing shoes and clothes to go on the tour. Unfortunately I am not convinced it was worth it, a very average tour and the only thing working was a run of boxes that far away you... More

Tour guide was friendly and informative. Beer/ cider tasting serves were a good size, friendly resturant staff and incredibly good food and not to mention the beautiful gardens would highly recommend & return with out delay!

The building and gardens are well worth visiting but because we had 4 children we couldn't do the brewery tour. We ended up in the picturesque cafe eating stout ice cream that was unforgettably good!

A good, interesting brewery tour with tastings afterwards. Just remember to wear long trousers, and flat, covered shoes otherwise you'll have to borrow items from the box to wear. It's fine though and all clothing was clean. Good range of beers and a nice garden to sit out in if the weather is fine.
