Mt Wellington, or Kunanyi, towers above Hobart. The drive up is pleasant, and you can glimpse views on the way, but ever fear, the best views are at the top. Plenty of parking, toilets, sheltered viewing room with tall glass windows. It can be pretty breezy up here, so the sheltered viewing spot is cosy, but be brave and trot... More

When I stopped in Hobart, I decided to go to Mount Wellington. The views from the summit are impressive. However, I appreciated even more the hikes I did in this park. For the couple of ones I did, the track could be steep and rocky (luckily enough, the weather was good when I was there) but the views made it... More

It was great to see that Hobart City Council has a dedicated web page for the road closures during winter for the drive up to the peak. http://www.hobartcity.com.au/Recreation/kunanyi_Mount_Wellington/Pinnacle_road_status We monitored it closely and went reasonably early in the morning to beat the traffic, because this is a popular place in winter with families. Great panoramic views of Hobart its surrounds... More

We travelled on the Hop on Hop off bus around Hobart. The views were stunning and we saw Mount Wellington, along with the Casino, the place where the Melbourne to Hobart Yachts arrive and many well kept beautiful old homes. Best way to see Hobart when you don't have a lot of time. Also on the foreshore board the old... More

Visited in August and were lucky enough to have fresh soft snow. Had a great time at the lookouts and took some amazing photos.

The actual drive to the lookout area on top of Mt. Wellington is very steep and windy with impressive views for us locals but even more so for visitors to our beautiful island. The views from on top are spectacular but be warned for sudden changes of weather!! Always take authentic COLD weather clothes as it may be shining hot... More

By far the best views of Hobart and surrounds. We were fortunate to get all the way to the top one day in a break in the snow. Would strongly recommend on a clear day
