You can't go to Hobart without visiting Mt Wellington. It's an icon of Hobart. Takes about 25-30 minutes drive up to the summit, on a very narrow road. I would say I'm a confident driver but even in a small hatchback I was cautious on the road. Can't imagine driving a huge Toyota Landcruiser up there, but people were. The... More

When the clouds parted you have a magnificent view over Hobart, and the surrounding countryside. The problem was it was like white out most of the time very windy & 3 degrees, choose your day wisely or rug up ! The drive up is sensational with lots of pull over points to take in the scenery.

Managed to climb uo and down in about two and a half hours. Didn't use a map but I would recommend taking one- I wished I had. There are toilets at the top but I didn't see any water fountains etc, which would be useful for people who've just walked up. Great views from the top, glad I walked instead... More

Worth visiting. The pinnacle is usually blustery. There are so many walks to explore so put on the hiking boots if it's a nice day!

The view is breath-taking and worth the tricky winding road. Downside for those wanting to get out of the biting wind is that there is no café where you can enjoy the view lingering over a tea or coffee. Maybe one day!

We drove the 11 km up the road to Mt. Wellington. The temperature dropped 10c in 11km! Take something warm if you want to get out of the vehicle at the top! Good views of Hobart.

we were lucky enough to go up the mountain on a beautiful clear day and the views were amazing. Take really warm jackets as it was absolutely freezing and felt close to zero in the middle of the day bbbbrrrrrr

Beautiful views all over Hobart and beyond. Best seen on a clear day as sometimes the low cloud hinders the view.

Go up there on a nice and sunny day and you won't be dissapointed. TIP: When walking to the lookout climb over the railing on the right hand side. There is a small hiking trail going down that'll bring you to the edge of the cliff. Look closely for a nome on one of the rocks.
