Pick a fine day and head up the mountain but be warned it is nearly always cold but the view is worth it. Our children thought it was like being in a plane but better. A holiday to Hobart must include a trip to the mountain. Even if you have done it before, do it again.

A spectacular view of Hobart and surrounds. It was cold but shelter is available. Well worth the drive! Awesome. Walk the boardwalks too!

Mount Wellington is an absolute must-see when in Hobart. Take a minibus to the top of the Hobart mountain for an amazing view and fresh mountain air. I truly enjoyed it.

As many others have written, this is a 'must see' if visiting Hobart. It is the one thing I ALWAYS want to do when visiting here. I would also reiterate the caution re the drive, which can definitely be hairy, so to all fellow travellers, remember keep to the left and don't speed, as we want to keep reading your... More

In half a day you can do both Mount Wellington and Mount Nelson, both different and both worth doing. We went on a partly sunny day and the views going up the 10km mountain were beautiful but when we got to the top it was shrouded in cloud which wasn't entirely unexpected as we'd been told that this is fairly... A must do if in Hobart. Fantastic views. Must be clear or you wouldn't see much. Kids very excited because we were 'above the clouds' (some fog below us!). Dress warmly!

The long winding drive up the mountain is worth it . Except you do have your share of knobs on the road. But when you get to the top the view is simply breathtaking.

Firstly, the drive up here gets a bit anxious. There were parts there where I wasn't sure what we'd do if we met an oncoming car. Once you get there though, the view over Hobart is fantastic. Definitely save this one for a clear day. Oh, and it gets really windy up there, so bring a coat!

I guess you have to do this on your trip to Hobart...Yes it's a great view but the trip up and down is slow going. You take in the vista and then it's back down again. Bring your jacket; it's always windy and chilly.
