Our bus ride up to Mount Wellington was very informative and what a view once we were at the top. We purchased our tickets at the Tasmanian Travel & Information Center and the lady said it was clear now so we should go before smog or what ever moved in. It was so clear you could see the harbor and... More

Went up here after having lunch at Cascades Brewery. Was windy and very chilly but nonetheless, the views are spectacular! So close to Hobart, free

We were able to drive up and take in the scenary which is absolutly spectacular not only from the top but also from vintage points scattered along the way. It really is a special treat on a sunny day.

A must when visiting Hobart. Be prepared for every kind of weather, which changes very quickly up there.

With a couple of hours to spare in Hobart before leaving, I decided to make the trip up Mt Wellington. Highly recommend going up.... Take a jacket =)

We had a hire car and drove up. The road was windy and I was concerned about the drive down but it was OK. We did have an automatic car and I thought the brakes might fail coming down but swapped to manual mode and stayed in second all the way and felt in control. The mountain was cold but... More

Incredible drive-up summit of Mount Wellington, the highest point around Hobart. Definitely a must-do in Tassie!

Around Hobart there are many interesting places to visit and Mount Wellington is one of them. The drive up is an experience as the road is narrow in parts and you will meet busses going in the opposite direction- not a problem just slow down and the bus driver will navgate around you. Do not be fooled by the weather... More

Wow...it was only 1degree when we were up there! It is claimed to be 10 degrees lower than the temperature in Hobart, I reckon it was 14 or more lower the day we visited as the wind added that extra chill factor! Well worth the drive, but pack your woollies! Great views over Hobart!
