Great view if there is no cloud coverage. If cloudy, there is not much to see so I suggest waiting for the right time to go. Make sure to bring a jacket as its a lot colder than at sea level. Tip - Go to Cascade Brewery on the drive back down to Hobart as its a nice place to... More

Very cold but the best view ove Hobart by far. Expect electrical disruption to cars and motorcycles as lots interference. Park your vehicle so that you are able,to roll out of the parking lot down the hill. 100m down all returns to normal. Take warm clothes as always freezing and windy up there

Was bloody cold in the middle of the day, with snow on the ground up the top. Fantastic views and some interesting history. Worth the drive.

Well worth the trip up the winding road, up through the trees, sometimes pockets of snow, we travelled above the tree line to the pinnacle. It's an amazing view from the top, and we were proud to show our city and its environs to our mainland friends. With a clear view for most of the time we were there, it... More

Definitely worth the drive for a panoramic view of Hobart and surrounds. But it is freezing - expect it to be colder and windier than in town and rug up!

A must on your destination list. Always go prepared for a scary wind chill factor - even on a warm day the wind can cut straight through you. A magical pace with lots of great day and half day walks if you have time.

Pinnacle Road is a good though narrow road up to the Pinnacle of Mount Wellington. The road is wide enough for cars going each way but care does need to be taken. Don't expect to find food on the mountain.

If you are a visitor and it is a clear day you must take the trip up Mount Wellington. The views are stunning. You will need to have some extra layers because it is often many degrees colder than the city temperature.

Spectacular views. Short drive from Hobart. Getting to pass the cascade brewery in the way is another good stop on the way.

This was an unexpected bonus for us during our visit to Tasmania. We didn't realise we'd be able to drive to the top of the mountain and see the wonderful views. There was snow on the ground when we were there - this teamed with clear skies at the time made for lovely photographic opportunities. Well worth the effort ...... More
