Loved the drive up the mountain, hints of amazing views along the way although I kept my eyes very much on the road. Lots of parking space at the top too. Standing at the top gives you amazing views over a huge area including Hobart, the drive to Port Arthur, out to sea, hills, valleys and more. It was a... More

We have been to the summit of kunanyi many times and in various weather conditions but our most recent visit in January, with overseas visitors, was spectacular. The clarity was wonderful and the day was warm so we all enjoyed the visit. I've taken other visitors (from Queensland) up there in August in snow so they could make snowballs and... More

The view can be from millimetres to kilometres. From beautiful sunlight to driving rain and snow, that's if the road is open. But if you get there and the clouds stay away the view is one that you will take away and remember. The drive up the mountain is a experience in its self. The natural beauty of the mountain... More

Picked up the hire car and headed straight here before checking into our Hobart hotel. Well worth visiting during daylight. People rave about night visits but I reckon you'll see more during the day. Plus the drive up is on tight roads, so the daylight helped a lot. Beware of cyclists. You'll have to cross a double white line to... More

The wind and cold caught us by surprise. 18c, warm and sunny at the bottom, and 11c and windy at the top! Fantastic views though, well worth the drive up!

It was a beautiful warm day the afternoon we drove up. The drive only took 30 minutes or so. It was interesting watching the vegetation change as we ascended. The views from the top were superb - well worth the journey. The information at the top was excellent including the stuff about Charles Darwin's visit. On the way down I... More

The weather in Hobart is so changeable, with cloud cover a lot of the time, so here's a pro tip for visiting Mount Wellington: If you can see the top from the city, zip up there while it's clear! It's only a 25 minute drive from the city and the views are worth it - on a clear day. There's... More

Fantastic 360 degree views. A bit if a climb on a hot day but is was worth it. Easier if you do the city bus tour.

Easy drive up to the top, if we had more time we would have walked up - full day needed. Take the time to walk one of the trails away from the crowds. Better views, and so peaceful.
