We visited this shop first based on other TA reviews...very friendly and informative...encouraged us to keep shopping and comparison shop...gave us some stones and opal chips for luck. We did look in other stores which were also friendly but appreciated and trusted Opalios so we returned and purchased here...they then included different gifts which made us feel appreciated...bonus is the... This is a must stop shop for those looking for something special or just a souvenir. The family have been dealing with opal and mining for over 30 years and are really professional and passionate about what they do. Make sure to have a chat with the jeweler George about opal.

When in Coober Pedy there are many many dealers trying to sell opals. This family business is a refreshing place where you can buy beautiful pieces at honest prices the owners are honest and can work with your budget. They encourage you to shop around. Go there first you'll probably go back. Kids welcomed in store.

Stella was very welcoming and generous. We were given a box full of little opal cuttings just for good luck which thoroughly delighted and fascinated my nine year old. Opalios was recommended by Desert View apartments where we stayed which was equally welcoming and comfortable.

We did visit a number of opal shops. The greeting here was friendly and helpful. No pressure to buy: held jewelry whilst we looked elsewhere. Ring needed resizing - this was good as we were introduced to the son who was equal to his mother in friendliness. The ring was re-sized, another purchased and earrings and a necklet as gifts... This Opal shop is great. From the warm welcome you receive when you walk in till when you leave this place is hard to criticise. George and Stella mother and son put you at ease. There is no pressure to buy and the small gifts they give you as a welcome and the little box of opal pieces for the... More

Advised to visit several before buying an opal. Opalios was first stop. Such a wonderful warm friendly welcome with absolutely no pressure to buy. My idea of a red or blue colour resulted in a beautiful white after Georges mum Stellar matched the stone with skin colour!. I bought a beautiful ring. It was my birthday! Next day I went... More

I wondered into Opalios on the hunt for the perfect necklace. I found a kind, funny, and accommodating mother and son duo who treated me with openness and respect. They put me at ease and answered all my questions with no sales pressure at all. Thank you Opalios for the warm welcome to Coober Pedy! All the positive reviews are... More

Great little store. The staff were very informative. We spent quite a bit of time in the store learning about Opal mining and processing.
