My partner and I only stopped in Coober Pedy for one night and I'm so glad we visited this shop the next morning. Stella was lovely, friendly and so full of knowledge. She was so helpful and never pushy. We brought a necklace and earrings that were gorgeous. Highly recommend.

We came with our 3 kids to experience Coober Pedy -the mines, the underground properties, the desert, the heat and as a side point we looked at opals to buy. Our daughter loved them and so the search for a special opal began. We found Stella and George honest, helpful, straight forward and informative. Did their best to be helpful... More

We felt at ease as soon as we walked into this shop. No overpowering pressure to buy. No incessant 'just for you.... 30% off' that you got when you walked into ALL the other shops that made you wonder just how much mark up they put on their stones. This family business was happy to have a chat and tell... More

I loved this place... I got to speak with one of the miners who was working that day and he was fascinating... i wish i remembered his name, but he and his dad are opal miners and he also had great stories... the free box of raw opals and the lucky gemstone were also fun little added gifts... but there... We visited Opalios late in the evening on our final day of our trip. George and Stella were both extremely welcoming, kind and insightful! We talked for a long time about their families history in Coober Pedy, how the jewellery was designed and made, and about the fossilised opals they have on display. I really really enjoyed the shop, and... More

My husband and I recently went to Coober Pedy and my husband liked the look of this opal shop so in we went. I ended up buying 3 opal pendants while I was there. There was such a nice family atmosphere there and after hearing their story I was so glad that this is the shop I decided to buy... More

It was recommended by several locals that this is where I could find opal and feel confident about what I was getting and the price and also support local family. I was in Coober Pedy 4 days and visited their "Oplios" shop everyday. I was never pressured into buying anything but was instead greeted with warmth and friendliness. I enjoyed... More

Went to a few other shops in Coober Pedy in search for an opal ring. Arrived at Opalios and was instantly welcomed by a really friendly guy. He was super helpful and pulled out all the rings for me to look through. I am super indecisive, but he helped me narrow down the search while providing a little lesson on... More

I popped in today as recommended by the man in the bottle shop and was greeted with a warm smile. I did buy a pendant but was overwhelmed by the kind gesture of gifts, I left with bundles of souvenirs and was told when questioned that it is give and take here.
