Taking your camera is a must. If you are on a fairly tight schedule of Adelaide, you can park for 4 hours next to the gardens, and walk through them to get to the city, as a way of seeing both. Depending on your pace, leave about 15-25 minutes to get from one side of the garden to the city.... more

Spent half a day here, part on an excellent guided walk (free, 10.30 each day) and part just roaming around. Have to say it is one of the nicest botanic gardens we have been in and so well looked after. If you are in Adelaide, this is one attraction not to miss. more

I used to come to the gardens all the time to eat lunch. As soon as you get through the gates, you have escaped the city. Not a hugely exciting and fast paced attraction obviously, if you're looking for something upbeat and you don't have much time in Adelaide then maybe look elsewhere, however try to at least come and... more

Normally, when we hear "botanic gardens" my husband and I think "snore" but we were walking by and it was free, so we thought "Why not?". But it was FANTASTIC! Truly a beautiful place, and we were there in the middle of winter! I can't imagine how stunning it must be in any other season. Look out for the "dead... more

I have just returned to New Zealand not long ago after a short visit to Adelaide where i went to and saw many attractions but the Botanical Garden was by far the best. We went for a lovely walk around them and sat down to just look at the scenery and listen to the birds. It was absolutely beautiful and... more

I enjoyed strolling around the botanic gardens, and particularly in seeing the very beautiful and strongly scented rose garden. The glass houses were good and it was a good introduction not only to South Australian plantlife, but to some of the different types of plants I was to encounter during the rest of my tour of Australia. more

The Adelaide Botanic Gardens are just alongside the hospital and only a 5-10 minute walk from the CBD. The gardens are a compact gem with a number of lakes and a stunning and unique conservatory as a centre piece. There is a very good restaurant in the gardens and it's a great place to chill out on a warm afternoon. more
