The Popeye launch is a good way to check the sights from the river. Trip takes about 40 minutes return, at $15 return a little pricey, commentary was informative, close to the Zoo and Adelaide oval.

Quite a short cruise, although it does take you as far as you can go so they can't make it any longer. I thought it was ok and I'd recommend it to people as it's a cool way to see the river and you get a good view of the city.

My title says it all really. For the distance we travelled we felt it was overpriced. The "captain" couldn't be bothered with any real commentary other than thats the Boat Club and this is the Weir etc and was more interested in texting on his phone. I'm quite interested in architecture and was very disappointed at the lack of information.

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip on Popeye. Tony, our host and captain, was pleasant, informative and had a lovely voice. His commentary was interesting and the views delightful.

It's an Adelaide institution and I had travelled on the boat as a child, so had to go back now that I a 'bit older'. It was a nice way to get to the zoo and a good way to view the city from the river

We struck it lucky and scored our own personal tour, probably as it was early in the day before the school holiday hordes got there. Our guide was friendly and relaxed and made it an enjoyable trip. The riverside parklands are very pretty and we had some interesting commentary on buildings and history of the area. We thought the price... More

I was quite excited to do this little boat ride after reading the reviews, however it is quite a short little trip and little commentary (especially when the skipper is on the phone). There were a number of buildings which were left unexplained. Save your $15 and take a slow drive along the river instead (as we drove back to... More

Whilst visiting Adelaide, we walked down to the river, and noticed boats cruising, on walking round to near the Oval, we saw the landing stage and decided to go for a trip. The boat was waiting and we quickly paid our fare (to the captain) and departed. The commentary was really interesting, the views were great, the Captain stopping the... More
