Part of our Fraser Island tour was a visit to Lake McKenzie for an hour. Water was a bit cold but the children (and a few adults) didn't seem to mind. Views are fabulous and this place would be even better on a warmer day.

Having a swim in this lake was the highlight of the day. Our day tour also included the ship wreck Maheno, walk through the rainforest and some exhilarating drives along... More

Think that this lake is currently my favourite place in the world. Untouched and unspoiled and a MUST for swimming in.

We came here last year and was really disappointed, as the water table had risen after all the rain we'd had and the Lake had lost its beauty, but this year it was back!!! It is just such a beautiful place, we never tire of coming here and have hundreds of photos!

Absolutely beautiful. The water was clear and the sand is supposed to clean rings etc. it is very quiet and relaxing and the ride through the forest was well worth a look.

Maybe a popular spot in summer, but it was icy on our visit. Brilliant white sandy beach though. Worth a look!

Great drive there and great place to cool off, toilets good too if your camping on the island. Another great spot on the island, arrive early beat the crowds.

The lake is truly beautiful. Colours are stunning and there is a great sense of calm and serenity. We went for a swim which was great. I really enjoyed the drive through different type of forest before arriving at the lake. I never knew a sand island could have so much dense forest. You should really try and visit the... More
