Maybe a popular spot in summer, but it was icy on our visit. Brilliant white sandy beach though. Worth a look!

The lake is truly beautiful. Colours are stunning and there is a great sense of calm and serenity. We went for a swim which was great. I really enjoyed the drive through different type of forest before arriving at the lake. I never knew a sand island could have so much dense forest. You should really try and visit the... More

Lake Mackenzie is extremely unique and very pretty. The paperbark trees lining the foreshore contrast against the very clear blue water due to the sandy bottom. If warm then a fantastic place to stop for a swim.

Fraser Island..If you are considering going, just do it! It is magical. We did a bus tour that stopped for x amount of time. Could have stayed all day here but our daughter loved just laying in the clear blue water and running around on the white white sand. Beautiful for photos. Treasured memories.

It was such a beautiful day weather wise with blue skies and no wind. I spent an hour and a half there swimming and relaxing.... More

Lake McKenzie is the most beautiful place at the island! The water is of great temperature and there are some great photo opportunities. I only wish our tour would have let us stay a few extra hours because I yjust couldnt get enough of that amazing view.

A local indigenous guide actually told us that they would never swim in this lake as it was a place of wisdom however it is fine to drink the water. shame there's no sign about either, as it would be nice to respect the culture of the local tribes people (Butchulla).
