The small barra were extremely hard to catch but the fishing in the big barra pond was non-stop action - great family fun

Two teenagers on a hot day thought this was great fun and something different from just going to the regular pool. Make sure you bring a large hat and lots of sunscreen as there is minimal shade.

Thanks KLndBP for the review, Glad your teenagers had fun. Agree with suggestion to bring hats and sunscreen, being an outdoor venue, it's very advisable. We are slowly growing our trees back up to replace the ones that we lost during Cyclone Yasi, and we do have limited pergolas, but they aren't as good as a shady tree. More

This is one of the best hidden secrets in Townsville. About 20 minutes from the Strand it has great water slides, bouncing pillows, animal petting, barra fishing (nuts if you miss it!), and now also cable skiing! People are friendly and organized we will be going back regularly. Has activities for all age groups, and is a great value for... More

Friends took our daughter here. It's not too bad - but if wouldn't go back. Was very dusty - and needs heaps more shade and seating. The water was muddy and didn't look very inviting. However in saying that - our daughter had fun.

Hi Jasmine, so glad your daughter had fun. We apologise for the lack of trees, Cyclone Yasi took most of our shady trees, and we're nurturing replacements which will take a few years. We've been working on adding artificial shade and seating, but it's always a good idea to bring out hats and sunscreens, and a folding chair, that way... More

Improving the facilities regularly, and the waterpark is great for the whole family. The fishing looks quite fun, but the prices for both are pretty prohibitive to prevent this being a regular for some of us locals.

The barra park has even got better with the watermark now part of there business. Great to do before the middle of the day as there isn't much shelter. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a great family day out with heaps of laughs.

Always amazing, kids want to come back. We had a great time with the whole family. The staff are obviously working hard to continuously improve the facilities at the park and we love the range of activities. Good job!

Fantastic place for young or old. The water park is a welcomed addition. You can fish for barramundi (catch and release) or play with the family in the aqua park. Exhausting stuff but just good fun!

Went here with visiting family on a rainy day and was really happy with the day. The only disappointing thing was coming at 12.15pm so missing the on the hour start and instead of waiting for the next 'start' we opted to go in late but still had to pay full price. Maybe they should offer a discount if you... More
