One for families and singles alike, this is a live coral aquarium. Manned in the main par by volunteers who are helpful and a wealth of information. Worth the visit and also taking one or more of the tours offered which are included in the admission price.

Took the family here and they loved it! Would do it again 100 times over. There was so much to see and do. The kids loved the kids corner and all the sea creatures. This was a fun place, we all enjoyed it very much.

This Aquarium is quite small in comparison to others. I think I might be spoilt for choice as we travel quite a lot. The main attraction is the huge tank with sharks, a sea turtle (huge), sting rays and lots of other tropical fish enclosed. They have a tunnel you can walk through under the tank as well and the... I enjoyed reef HQ but the definite highlight was a side-tour offered to the centre's rehabilitation facility for injured turtles. The tour is included in your entry ticket price to Reef HQ, and includes a pre-talk about the damage caused to turtles by ingesting rubbish and by boat strikes. Limited sized groups are then taken a short walk outside to... More

I visited Reef HQ in early June. I wasn't really sure what to expect and prior to visiting thought the price seemed steep, but with nothing else to do for the afternoon I paid my money and went in. It turned out to be fantastic! I went on a Thursday afternoon which meant I got to see the predators, and... More

We enjoyed visiting this place while in Townsville as there are a great variety of tropical fish and other creatures of the sea on display in the big tanks and all that looks very good - but like others have said it is a little pricey for what you get and you can do it all fairly quickly and yes... Enjoyed the afternoon viewing the fish, coral, and turtles. Relaxed way to spend a couple of hours and I learnt a few things along the way. I decided Ref HQ is a great prep before I go snorkelling at the Barrier.

Kids were very excited. It's a must take your kids to. Throughly enjoyed our time. Would have liked to haves even the turtle hospital but sadly we didn't get a chance to. The shows are a good way for the kids to learn new things.

I have been here on a number of occasions but I've noticed that this time it has dated. Reef HQ needs to be updated.

It was good, but not great. We thought we would have spent more time there after what we had read up on it, but apart from the shows etc it was not much to look at
