This is a loverly stop on the way up Harvies Range just out of Townsville which can be included on a trip to Havies Range Tea rooms, also worth it 👍. The views to the south and coast are great. Off road parking for about five vehicles at a time.

Pipers lookout is a pleasant drive and a good place to view Townsville and Magnetic Island. Good spot for a picnic. Also a good place to pause when visiting the Heritage tearoom nearby

A must to see on a clear day for some stunning views of Townsville. Don't forget to also visit Castle Hill for some fantastic views of the city

Just near the tea rooms, it's a great lookout to stop at for a wide view across Townsville. No ameneties, but off the road enough to park the car and have a walk around.

This was amazing, so well done and the views are awesome, people everywhere, and to get the full view of Townsville it puts it all in perspective until you go up there you really have no idea how big it was, great spot

Stopped at the lookout on our way back from the Herveys Range Tea Rooms after a lovely afternoon tea. Well worth the drive up there, and there were a couple of little waterfalls flowing when we were there along the side of the road.

Not too far out of Townsville, and gives amazing views of the city and surrounding flats. Takes maybe 30 minutes to get there off the ring road.

We always pull over for a look on the way back from the summit. In the dry months the air can be a little hazy, but after rain it is fantastic. There is a heritage tea shop on the right at the top of the range that is worth a visit. Takes about 20 minutes to get to the lookout... More

There are some really beautiful views over Townsville and toward Magnetic Island from Herveys Range. Take the camera and get yourself some great shots. Some of the landscape reminded me of Werribee Gorge in Victoria, though other parts were very dry. If you've got a 4x4 make sure you venture off road, but be very careful - we got stuck... More
