The art centre staff are rude and present themselves as though they don't care.

I had a woman with a dyed red pony tail come over to my disabled client, which was using a power point to charge his and my own mobile phones, and rudely and abruptly told him to... read more

Nice place to go for a walk to take in the beauty of Townsville, beaches seemed nice and clean, the colors of the bougainvillea were gorgeous, gardens were lovely, and so were the old buildings near by.

Two great and big pools with an area for smaller kids (with shade). Lots of space, playgrounds, barbecuse facilities. Look out for the turtles in the Ross River.

Huge swimming area on the river, no entry fees, just wander in. Free form, although one can do laps. Babies areas, waterfalls, shaded bits and adjacent board walk on the river. Lifeguards patrol from opening until close. Good changing rooms underneath. Great spot to come, any time of year. it even has a cafe and kiosk on site.

Whilst staying at Jacana Apartments did a pleasant walk, great too see wildlife especially the abundant freshwater turtles. A very popular location and understandably so.

Saw this mentioned in a tiny paragraph of tourist brochure and thought we would check it out. Was expecting some sort of river swimming area, but was really surprised when we discovered it was a swimming pool. (pleasantly surprised) There is a lap pool at the top, which cascades into a spa pool below. There is also a lagoon style... More

Sometimes local governments get it right and Riverway is a credit to Townsville and the development of public space. The Riverway lagoons consist of several FREE swimming pools nettled in a garden setting overlooking the Ross River. Facilities include seating, BBQ’s, chang facilities, the Arts Centre and a cafe/kiosk. There is also a walking trail that follows the river, but... More

A fantastic park with free pools and changerooms etc, a real credit to Townswille, many other councils should go and see what can be done. Well worth a visit to cool off on a hot day.
