This gallery only has a modest amount of space in the Gold Coast Arts Centre but they used it well and there three interesting exhibitions to look at. One was a touring exhibition from the Jam Factory in Adelaide with a beautiful array of contemporary craft and glass work. The second was an exhibition of old watercolours and photos by... More

For a city this size, the exhibits at the gallery are often a disappointment. Over the years, most displays seem superficial and trivial..., kinda like how outsiders view the Gold Coast in general. To see a great art gallery, head south about 60km to the Tweed River Art Gallery in Murwillumbah, NSW.

Great entertainment, great bar and selection of wines and champagnes. Staff was attentive. Bar food available which was great to have with your drinks if peckish. Plenty of parking spaces.

Saw a fantastic exhibition at this public art gallery. It was surround-sound with images of the individual members of the Australian Chamber Orchestra playing their instruments on separate screens that the viewer could manipulate. Inter-active and fantastic. Enjoyable. Nice work.

I took my wife to see a show recently and to avoid the traffic we decided to book at the Arts Cafe. Big Mistake, after waiting in line for around 20 minutes to order we waited another half hour before I enquired at the counter to get a time when our food would be ready. Shortly after complaining our food... More

Since there are no proper museum in Surfer Paradise in Gold Coast, this city art gallery is the only place that I can find. I stayed in Vibe Hotel and discovered thawt it is located not too far away from the hotel. I started to walk along Ferny Drive, turned into Thomas Drive and reached Chevron Island. Nerang River water... More

When at the Arts Centre I enjoy taking a wander through the gallery. The travelling displays are always worth a visit and there's always plenty of parking available. Can always combine with a trip to the movies or a show.

The GCC Art Gallery has a lot of positives. The food is lovely - I have eaten here a few times for lunch & dinner. Service is good & friendly. The theatre is comfy & they offer a variety of different films.

I am a regular and many years ago I was a volunteer here. In my humble opinion, the management are desperately trying to buy/show 'cool' art- there is very little depth in the collection. The recent Border Art Prize showed the real lack of direction in the art community here on the Gold Coast. There are som amazing paintings hung... More

There are some interesting shows in the GCAG but unfortunately the two gallery spaces are very small and kind of pokey. The volunteers that run the desk are always enthusiastic and lovely. Now and When was interesting and the annual Stan and Maureen Duke Art Prize is worth a look.
