The three-kilometer strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia's iconic beach, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up 'paradise' to millions.Throughout the year, our beach welcomes swimmers, joggers, surfers and strollers from around the Gold Coast, around Australia and around the World. There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one.Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment.

When I was there, many years ago, Surfers Paradise includes a park that has in it captive dolphins. I do not agree with keeping cetaceans in captivity. Not my kind of place. There's no facility for putting down the correct year so I've chosen one in 2014. This is the first time I've reviewed Surfers Paradise.

Neat & clean beach & good place for surfing. Close to everything. View of high rise is as plus. All pubs, disc, restaurants & hotel are all around. Pretty happening place. Nice gals lying around in bikinis. In evening time, some road side shows!! Nice!!!

We had a lovely time on this beach, walking in the early morning and late afternoon was great, and you can have great time for swimming and sunbathing as well. Just walk at night and take a breath on beach and see the local market nearby with many things to do.

This beach was one of the best beaches I have ever been to. The sand is soft, the beach itself is free of rubbish. The water was warm and nice to swim in. 11/10

Close to everything, so long that there's always a area that is uncrowded, endless surf, what more can you ask for!

It was a beautiful place. We had a lovely walk in the night after dinner. Ate ice cream and then went for a pleasant stroll. On one of the days there was a night market which sold a lot of good stuff like clothes, trinkets etc. You can bargain at this market.

Love the hub bub and bustle, the birds and activity. Also the market twice a week, that was nice. The music and easy walk to the shops for food was exceptional

This would have to be one of the best beaches in the world. It has been voted as one of the cleanest in Australia. There are patrolled areas along vast areas of the beach, which makes it safer for tourists who do not understand the surf conditions in Australia. East access from the shopping and food areas, parking nearby. Would... More
