There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one.Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment. « less

Expectations unfulfilled and rather tired attractions and hostelries. There was very little I liked.

Surfer's Paradise is truly a sight to behold with its happy waves and beautiful coastline dotted with resplendent beach and surf-loving people even on winter. Though perfectly happy with the beautiful Coolangatta Beach where we were staying a few days before the Gold Coast Airport Marathon last month, Hubby and I both agreed that our trip to the Gold Coast... This is the Gold Coast's most iconic beach. It's very wide especially when the tide is out with fabulous white powdery sand and a really good surf break. It is well patrolled by professional life savers during the summer months. It gets pretty crowded on a hot day especially during the holidays, but it's worth it. There are beach volley... More

Surfers is getting a little dated now but still a great holiday spot for the young, no so much the older generation really.. I loved the new tram though, fantastic !

Saw lifesavers rescue two swimmers who had got themselves into difficulty. Very professional. Beach very clean.

As an Aussie I'm use to beaches and to me this is just like thousands along our coast but for international tourists it is a must visit. A trip to Surfers would not be complete without a walk along this great stretch of beach.

Lovely sand, patrolled in areas, just need to dodge the shadows of the high rises to stay in the sun!

This beach was stunning white sand, blue waters. Very relaxing. Great surging waves as well. You can walk quite a long distance before the water reaches your shoulder.
