The three-kilometer strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia's iconic beach, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up 'paradise' to millions.Throughout the year, our beach welcomes swimmers, joggers, surfers and strollers from around the Gold Coast, around Australia and around the World. There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one.Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment.

I visited this beach a few years back. One of the places where I can travel solo without any worry. There are a lot of restaurants around and a flea market at night. I was able to buy some good souvenirs to take back home.

The beach is immaculately clean and wide open. The swimming and surfing areas are clearly marked. I love the night market that's here 3 nights a week and the paved path to walk or ride if you don't want to be in the sand. The sand sculpture competition was in full swing so there was lots to do.

The first time I went there it was cloudy. Despite the weather conditions the venue was all I had expected; amazing arquitecture, cool designs everywhere and surfer stuff all over the place! Families walking down the streets barefoot and surf board rentals, plus stores just in front of the "main gate" that states "Surfers Paradise". You can enjoy warm waters... More

Beach was very clean and not very crowded. Access to the beach is easy and plenty of showers to rinse off.

Surfers Paradise beach is always a popular choice with tourists flocking there. Most accommodation in Surfers Paradise has wonderful views along the coast. There are also markets held here.

The Surfers Paradise beach and its adjoining areas with so many eating places and pubs is wonderful to visit anytime in the day, it is sunny and bright in the daytime and good fir a swim, surfing or simply to relax, while in the evening it is a beautiful walk down the beach with high rises on one side and... I love surfers, don't get me wrong, but if you're looking for beaches I would head more north in QLD to Mooloolaba or Noosa area. I prefer quiet beaches and surfers is almost always packed!
