This is a very well kept beach, which is popular with tourists and locals alike. The beach is very clean and provides an excellent opportunity to both swim and surf. Only a stones throw from restaurants and cafes, this is a great place to spend an afternoon sunbathing.

The sands are fine and clean. Very strong wave and nice sea. Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday - night market from 5.00pm to 9.00pm.

The public transport was excellent, the beaches are super clean, I found some really funki lil cafe bars on orchid ave up the little ally ways and we also found a little shop called happy high herbs which was off the hook! Solved all my travelling blues, also found out about the local gigs off their walls. I think they... More

But still, the water is fantastically blue, and if you like skyscrapers you'll just love it! In my view that is a place that would look very close to Benidorm in Spain! You can also see whales from the beach, or have a great rest on this unbelievably long beach !

Not being a surfer myself I have no personal stories about the surfing experience but the beach is always full of surfers so there must be something in the name. The surf seems to be moderate in strength.

Was there May 2013 and the place is just amazing.Restaurants and bars are nice and its very safe since the police are just around and if you don't drink responsibly you can get detained right there and then because prison cell is just across the bar. The beach is a must!

The beach stretches for as far as the eye can see. It's amazingly clean with lots of lifeguard stations. We saw it midweek in winter so it wasn't too busy. The waves are amazing and there were lots of people in surfing. Great to watch. There are also 'pay as you go' BBQ's and big wooden beds for lying in... More

There is a lot of road shows, just paid them a dollar or more if you like their performance. There is night market every wed and fri. Like our pasar malam in Singapore. Should have stayed here more days instead of brisbane.

I was there a week back and finally, I understand why people call it the Surfer's Paradise. The waves are amazing and definitely everyone should try to surf or bodyboard there. I have never surf before although i've done wakeboarding and cable skiing and hence I wasn't able to rent a wake board. I was however provided with a body... More
