There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one.Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment. « less

Beautiful & clean - this very long stretch of beach. Soft yellow sand & surf on the day we were there. Patrolled for swimmers. You cn sun bath, walk for miles, swim or surf.

Sea looked very rough on a stormy day! But lovely in the sunshine. Loved the well known lifesaver huts.

It was a bit cold to get into the water, but the walk along the beach with views back into the city was great

The beach was absolutely beautiful and brilliant. Didn't swim in the sea though as the waves were somewhat fiesty.

A total nightmare! Don't think you will enjoy the sun as when 2pm rolls around due to all the high-rises the majority of the beach is overcast in a complete shadow. We were told by a lifeguard that the beach gets rolled every morning by a tractor that has an attachment fitted to pick up syringes left by addicts. During... More

There are much better beaches along the Gold Coast, but still Surfer's Paradise is iconic! And I love what they have been doing with the foreshore walks.
