Activities: Watching sunrise/sunset
Owner description: The three-kilometer strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia's iconic beach, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up 'paradise' to millions.Throughout the year, our beach welcomes swimmers, joggers, surfers and strollers from around the Gold Coast, around Australia and around the World. There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one.Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment.

The Surfers Paradise beach and its adjoining areas with so many eating places and pubs is wonderful to visit anytime in the day, it is sunny and bright in the daytime and good fir a swim, surfing or simply to relax, while in the evening it is a beautiful walk down the beach with high rises on one side and... I love surfers, don't get me wrong, but if you're looking for beaches I would head more north in QLD to Mooloolaba or Noosa area. I prefer quiet beaches and surfers is almost always packed!

It was really amazing enjoying Surfer's Paradise beaches! It was even more exciting because, purely by chance, we were there during the Ironman challange, and we could attend all the race sitting on the beach, taking delight od the wonderful sunny day, the light breeze, the skyscrapers, and one of the most sandy beach ever seen! I am looking forward... More

We were on the Gold coast during a recent cyclone and the beach took a hammering but it didn't stop us. The beach was amazing and although to dangerous to swim it was beautiful to watch.

While Surfers Paradise beach is usually pictured as kilometres of lovely white sand and creamy waves rolling in all backed by the high rise architecture of Surfers Paradise resorts. Once or twice a year it puts on its violet face when a cyclone comes near. The sea then becomes a place where only the fool-hardy would venture into. It is... More

Nice area to spend a day, not for bad swimmers or people looking for a quiet crystal clear type waters (it's called surfers paradise for a good reason). The beach is mostly flat, wide and very long, allowing for a very good walk. The area is very developed, with all sort of services, restaurants, shops, facilities, cafes, etc. On weekends... More
