We decided to have a look last minute and it was a great idea. The art Deco 'Dreaming of Deco' exhibition was beautiful, they even had some Laliques and Tiffanys. There was another modern art exhibition upstairs with 50s homeware items. The staff was very nice and you can feel the place is well looked after. They have some interesting... More

Enjoyed touring the art gallery offering a mix of arts and crafts. Free entrance and a tour that last around half a hour as the gallery is not huge. This offers a nice cultural experience to be enjoyed in a reasonable amount of time

What a pleasant meander! We dropped in & enjoyed the Art Deco & artwork display. It's free entry & worth a look. Have a cuppa or something to eat at Cafe Bliss across the road afterwards (it's not much to look at from the outside but is lovely inside & has great, reasonably priced coffee/food).

Local artists displayed on the first floor. So many talented artists exhibited. Unfortunately, the ground floor was out of bounds due to a change of exhibition. Maybe, next time!

A nice little gallery, could be more pieces but what they have are good. This is a nice little oasis on the river bank, recommended

This is a very interesting and professional curation. Short but very sweet. Inspiring! A gorgeous setting by the river. Easy access. Friendly staff.

It's too easy to bag small galleries and museums for their small collections and often refusal to move beyond their 4 walls. At first glance you might think this gallery suffers from 'small townitis' as well. But, this gallery has a long history of stepping beyond its boundaries and supporting the local artists as well as occasionally testing the waters... More

Entry was free, we made a small donation to their donation box. There were some interesting displays when we went and all were labelled very informatively. Its a nice building and was a pleasant way to spend a rainy afternoon :)

I visited the art gallery today as part of my 24hour whistle stop tour of Rockhampton and was very impressed! From the second I walked in, the staff were particularly friendly and informative. I enjoyed the galleries, particularly the children/teen reflective Impressionism tour. The gallery was prestige and I would recommend that everyone takes time to visit this attraction whilst... This gallery joins the Pilbeam Theatre, set on the banks of the Fitzroy River. It has three galleries that I saw, each one quite small, it also has a small gallery shop filled with manufactured items, this was quite disappointing, would have expected it to be filled with local artists work! I always visit each towns galleries/museums whenever possible. The... More
