Mount Morgan is a great place to experience want a mining town was like 100 years ago. Little has changed it seems, but far fewer people there! Worth a drive around to look at the buildings and houses and to visit the museums that evoke the mine and town that earned the money to underpin the start of British Petroleum.... More

what a wonderful trip on the coaster bus. A very informative talk was given all through our trip and various points of interest also pointed out to all of us. The mine itself was a true eye opener. The old time machinery the men were working with and the heat must have been unbearable. They must have been tough in... More

The two-hour tour was informative and it was great being able to visit the mine and learned its history. Also get recommended to a great café at an old hotel, and browse at the museum and vintage store.

Mt Morgan is a great place to visit and drive around to look at the old houses and buildings. The mine visit is very interesting and amazing to visualise times gone by. the bakery in the main street has the best pies and cakes in CQ.

A must do if you're going to Mt Morgan! The local guides were extremely knowledgable - it was a fascinating 2 hours around the old mine & township. So glad we did this tour!

Would recommend the two hour mini bus tour of the town and mine and museum. This little town needs rescuing. Lovely little houses from the heyday of the town and shops begging to be loved and restored. The museum is very well done and very interesting and the tour guide is very well informed. The Mafeking Bell is even in the... More

Really enjoyable afternoon exploring the historic town of Mt Morgan and the gold mine. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgable and the dinosaur footprints in the caves were well worth seeing. I took my teenage kids and they had a blast.

An awesome drive up the range from Rocky on the Burnett Hwy. Stopped at the Railway Station=Tourist Centre where we were cordially received by an older man who narrated us very enthusiastic the whole story about Mount Morgan and its big man dug whole! A very nice rest area at the Dam and beautiful lookouts!

a short drive from Rockhampton Mount Morgan is well worth a half-day trip. I didn't do the mine tour but there was still lots to look at - dam, drive around the mine, suspension bridge are fun for the kids
