I was very excited to travel out to the Great Barrier Reef area. The boat QuickSilver takes you on is big, has lots of seating (if you can find some) has bathrooms, food and drink service so you're comfortable for the 90 min drive out there. I was part of a tour group, so we had early boarding and a... More

I received this day trip to the reef for two as a birthday present from friends. The weather was clear and sunny and the water was very calm. We drove ourselves to the marina from our Port Douglas accommodation and we told we would board at 920am... Which we didn't... even though other tourists we already onboard from the transfer... The staff were professional but easy going. They made it easy to just concentrate on my three dives. If you love to dive I highly recommend doing all three dives if you can. Every dive is different and I just couldn't get enough. I didn't have an underwater camera with me but they made it easy to rent one even... More

We booked this through a travel agent. We went during CNY terrible mistake!!! It was too crowded. They have an area roped off where you snorkel but there were too many people to enjoy, we kept getting kicked in the face by fins. There are many other activities to do for extra cost which is worth it but adds up... More

I took one of the " quicksilver " boats to their plontoon at the Great Barrier Reef! Beautiful boat, well arranged, and a wonderful brunch presentation! A little disappointed with the snorkeling site,( probably because restricted because of the plontoon site), but SOO Many tours to choose from..helicopter tour of reef, giuided snorkeling by a biologist, or just snorkel by... We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to the boat.... everything ran like clockwork, tea coffee and biscuits served prior to leaving. It was a very windy day hence a rough crossingwhich meant other trips on smaller vessels were cancelled but we were given ginger tablets to aid sea sickess and once we reached the outer reef it... We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the boat. Free tea and coffee with biscuits were served before we departed and water and juice were served all day. The whole day was well organized and all the staff were helpful and friendly. We just did our own thing and had a great day .The lunch was good... More

My wife and I used Quicksilver Cruises during August last year. The company is well organised; everyone knew their jobs and their performance is slick. The lunch provided was excellent, the hot coffee and biscuits great and the staff endeavoured to see the clients had a great trip. The equipment provided to snorkell on the reef was fine as well.... I booked a snorkeling tour with an optional private marine biologist. It was amazing. She helped to point out exactly what I was looking at under the water -- and explain more about the fish. As a fairly inexperienced swimmer, it also helped me go at my own pace. Well worth the incremental fee!!

Very well-organized, slick operation from check-in, boarding, transit, suiting up, diving, to return. Dive instructors are professional, well-trained, fun and friendly. Safety is an important consideration to this outfit.
