With the lone diver in our group off on an expedition to the outer reef, the remaining 6 members of our party looked for a half-day snorkel expedition and after scouting around for a bit, found the Tallarook. We were very glad we did. The other reviewers have detailed the trip well, ours was equally fabulous. The boat was beautiful... More

we went out on the tallarook for a half day sail/snorkel experience to the Low ilses off Port douglas. The operation is a very personal experience with only a small group of people onboard with the skipper and his wife taking the reins and sharing the sailing. The skipper gave a fabulous talk on the way out about the georaphy... More

We did the all day catamaran trip out from Cairns to the outer Barrier reef on our second day in Queensland. As snorkellers we wonder if these trips are mostly for scuba divers. We had pretty rough weather going out and worse on the way back. Did not bother the SCUBA folks a bit. Can't blame anyone for than and... More

Well, after what seemed like a rude answer to our early phone call to ensure we could get on board on that day, the rest of service made up for their early morning rudeness. With all due respect they were probably interrupted from preparing the ship for the morning's outing, which would also lead me to the safety rundown. The... More

Great trip, money worth!!! I'm from Italy and I went snorkeling with my australian relatives and it was just amazing. It was my second time on the Reef, but it was the best one. The service is very personal and environmental friendly. We spend an unforgettable morning on the Reef with a prepared and funny guide who explained us all... More

We had a great time listening to our (husband & wife) hosts fill us with intersting things about the the reef, the Low Isles and Port Douglas region. They were very informative, environmentally switched on and very passionate about what they do. My wife and I were only in Port Doglas for four nights, so the half day cruise was... More

Don't be put off by the half-day time limit. That's all you need. The full day tours just involve more time on a boat and more time hanging around waiting for other people. The Tallarook excursion is all you need. The lecture on the marine life and surrounding area was excellent and boat itself is fabulous. My only nit pick... More

I have been out on Tallarook on 2 previous occasions and once again the experience was fantastic.. The trip out to the Low Isles on Tallarook is wonderful and provides you with a superb way to travel out to the reef, that is a million miles away from the conveyor belt type trips that seem to be favoured by the...
