Did this on a Sunday - there were about six snorkellers on the day, divers quadruple the amount. The snorkelling sites were basically nothing compared to what we had experienced before - in a bad way. A lot of it looked dead and wasn't very impressive at all. So probably better for the divers perhaps. But if you're snorkelling, definately... More

It was expensive, but worth it! The crew were great, the boat was equipped with everything you need, including sea-sickness tablets (herbal and non-herbal). More

I bought a 3 day reef pass for $410 from www.portdouglasinfo.com. I used the pass for a trip out to Agincourt Reef. My highlight was the resident grey reef sharks at 3 Sisters. The 3rd dive is a shallow dive, barely hitting 10 m at a site called Paddocks. I wouldn't recommend the company to bring experienced divers there. The... More

We wanted to get on sail boat but with all the rain, the sailing boats only go to the Low Isles and visibility there wasn't good. The Silversonic (owned/operated by Quicksilver) goes to three spots on the Agincourt Reef. We snorkelled - one site not as good as the others (probably better for divers). Lycra suit recommended by staff costs... More

We went on Silversonic on Port Douglas in February 2012. We pre booked three certified dives. The boat wasn't fully booked with just 30 pax. So we had plenty of space on the day. The dive guide was really helpful and did a great dive briefing. We went to three different dive sites. The visibility wasn't really great but we... More

The place is wonderful: many fishes full of colours. Just a magic experience. Unfortunately we booked with silversonic. They explain you 10 times how to wear your mask or breath like if you were 5 years old. You spend 1 hour listening them. They ask you to fill many documents for them to be discharged from any responsibilities etc... Under... More

Great snorkle trip on the Great Barrier Reef. We were picked up & dropped back to our hotel. The boat was very roomy, had inside A/C areas and outside areas which were very clean and comfortable. We snorkled at 3 sites - each one amazing and different. They also did a snorkle tour which was very informative. They gave lectures... More

We were instantly booked for next morning trip when I called afterhours. No hassles at all. The bus came to pick us up from the hotel. My wife took 2 introductory dives, and I took 2 certified dives. There were around 60 people on this huge boat, however the majority was just snorkelers, so the groups of divers were small,... More

Yes the boat was choppy and I got seasick, yes the food was pretty average and didn't help with aforementioned seasickness. Yes the trip to the reef was long, very long. But when you get there, to one of the seven wonders of the world and dive in and stick your head below water, it all seems worth it. The... More
