The crew was great, the living accommodations were great, the food was great. However, there was some problem with the engine once we reached the liveaboard vessel. I completely understand that things like that happen. My buddy and I spent over 500$ for a two day, 1 night trip to the Great Barrier Reef, and we only had enough compressed... More

I was in Cairns with an International Language School. 7 of my students wanted to get their diver's certificates and had a 4 day course arranged by the Dive Centre. I chaperoned them since they were minors, but I must say I had just as much pleasure as they did, following the course. Ethan was their teacher and instructor on... More

Fantastic - We took a high school group and it was perfect. The crew were professional and friendly. They work very hard. You have the opportunity to do 5 dives/4 snorkels. We had 3 days/2 nights. I did an a couple of introductory dives with Mac and I felt very safe. The food was yum..... Hats of to the head... More

Awesome time. For the price I was very happy. Yeah it's the backpacker vibe, but that's kinda what my brother and I were going for. Tanya was great as an instructor while my brother did an intro dive and really watched him and reacted quick and well when he had some trouble. The rest of the crew was very welcoming... More

After finding a deal for $100 off the 3day 2night live aboard option a friend and I jumped at the opportunity to live and dive on the Great Barrier Reef (GBR). The morning of our first day we were picked up from our hostel and taken to the dive shop.  After paying the bill and signing a couple waivers we... More

Did a 2 night/3 days live-aboard trip with CDC. Yes, it's the basics, but it was a good experience of seeing part of the GBR, with up to 5 dives per day possible. The staff and other divers were interesting and helpful. The independent underwater time after the initial check-out dive is better for experienced divers who know how to... More

Note this review is for the Kangaroo Explorer Liveaboard dive boat operated by CDC. This was a good experience, but I don’t know if I’d highly recommend. Pros: - Logistically they picked us up / dropped us off without a problem and had all the equipment, food, and drink we needed. - They made sure we had a private room.... More

Did a 1 night 2 day with my wife (and advance course) and loved it so much I had to come back to Cairnes to do a 2 night 3 day dive. The rooms were better than the hostels we stayed in (equal too a budget hotel in the states) and the crew was loads of fun and helpful and... More
