My stay in Cairns was completely ruined by this experience. I paid 550 AUD for spending 2 days in this overcrowded hell. I was so upset that I left Cairns earlier than planned. I think there is something wrong with positive reviews giving this center 5 stars, maybe these are written by the staff themselves or their friends. I really... More

Just spent 3 days and 2 nights on the reef with CDC. Dive conditions not great but overall a lot of fun. Kangaroo Explorer team were energetic, fun, informative. Equipment was decent. Boat is a bit rough and ready but it is a working dive boat and unless you pay a packet they are always like a floating scout camp... More

Wow...if you ever get to do this you would want more. This was a first for me in snorkelling and it was an amazing experience...I cant wait to go back and do it all over again...what a treasure Cairns have in this beautiful reef. The crew on this vessel were absolutely awesome and take great pride and doing the job... More

This was my third trip with Cairns Dive Centre on their liveaboard Kangaroo Explorer. I had another great time and will definitely be back. As a return customer I was well looked after, with special thanks going to Rafael, Charlie, Nari (my apologies if I have the spelling wrong) and Dan. I've read some of the reviews that are not... Their day trip when you stay in the boat overhight was terrible. First, dive sites were truly boring. Worse wad the service and professionalism. The operations are run by dive trainees - cheap labor coming to work on a boat without much experience. There was an instructor, but he was busy doing other things. Staff unfriendly, enter your cabin as... More

We booked a four day, three night trip with Cairns Dive Center and were highly disappointed. It started with late pickup (only 15 minutes, but no word of excuse), continued with a seat on the Reefkist(the boat, which brought us to the Kangaroo Explorer), which was not adjustable, so both of us fell onto the people behind us, if we... Crew are super friendly and took care of my family well. As we can't swim, everytime we went for snokal we got a snokal guide with us. Not only he got us safety, but also pointed out interesting creatures. Sometimes he even dive in the water to point out what he saw! We saw gaint clam, turtal, lionfish, nemo, of... More

Three days/two nights on the boat was an absolutely beautiful experience. Having never dived and barely even snorkelled before was no hindrance. Both of those two were great ways to spend the days(bring books or something to amuse yourself in the downtime). The boat itself was basic with plenty of spots for sitting and relaxing and the rooms did the... More

Living on a boat is a little rough, but you spend most of your time in the water and out on the deck. The instructors are great and they take you to great locations to see the sea life. It is so beautiful and must do when you are in Australia. The water is so clear and so blue. It... More

My wife and I went for 3 days and 2 nights diving / snorkelling on the reef from Cairns, 1st to 3rd Oct 2014 on the Kangaroo Explorer. Great value, double bed room spacious, clean, great. I am a picky chef and found the food was really good and plentiful, compliaments to the chef! The reef was amazing, 2 different... More
