Had an absolute blast of a time with CDC on the Kangaroo Explorer for three days. The diving was great (and sometimes the snorkelling was better!) as the reef was absolutely sunny and beautiful with great visibility while it was pouring down in Cairns. Saw sharks, turtles, rays and of course lots of fish and beautiful coral. Staff were absolutely... More

My husband and I learnt to scuba dive with CDC in Dec and just don't understand some of the reviews on here. Yes the boat may have been a little old but come on your on the Great Barrier Reef is that not enough splendour for you? The staff were incredible! From the dive masters (Ethan, Kurt and Dan), AWESOME... More

Great great 3 days out on the reef on the Kangaroo Explorer. We are snorkelers and enjoyed it very much. The reef is very shallow and ideal for snorkelers too. We saw turtles and big fish as the Maori Wrasse and others, it was brilliant. The food is really good and all the staff very helpful. We got a double... More

Was wicked sick yo, shout outs to Ned and Bruce who were awesome as, and the rest of the crew were brilliant as well. The diving experience is fantastic as the boat moves to a different reef several times a day. Milne Reef was definitely the most enjoyable! The food was great, cabins were cosy and once again, the crew... More

My boyfriend and I stayed 3 days and 2 nights on the kangaroo explorer! Besides the boat ride out we found everything to be easy, clean, helpful and enjoyed our few days diving on the reef! Staff make it enjoyable and all seem genuine and love what they do. Special mention to Meghan who was able to help in anyway... More

Staff ok (trainees galore), dive sites fine, boat terrible and the food inedible. I would definitely recommend another company!!! You get what you pay for, and a bit less! My second dive trip in Cairns, but a lot less pleasant than the previous one with another company. The dive sites were fine, but the boat (Reef-Kist) is sooo out-dated and... More

It was the first time I stayed a couples nights on a boat. The staff was super nice and helped us a lot to get settled fast. The ride to the boat was quite rough, but the staff reacted really professionally. The food on board was really good. The equipment I rented was in good condition and all the dives,... More

Whilst not the most modern dive boat on the marina, for my first trip to the reef and first dive (intro dive) it was a pleasant experience. The majority of the crew were friendly and helpful, albeit mostly rushed during the day to fit everything in. I had never snorkelled or dived before, but took the plunge and tried an... More

Just had a wonderful time exploring the reef for 4 days and 3 living aboard the kangaroo explorer, visited a new dive site every day with provision for 4 daily dives, the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable providing briefings on the individual sites and best dive locations, The provided night dives were a bonus to witness the different activity...
