I've done my open water and advanced dive course with CDC and stayed 4 days on their live-aboard the Kangaroo Explorer. Fantastic bunch of people and staff there. Special thanks to Luke our dive instructor. Great style of teaching and delivery of training and making sure the whole experience is enjoyable too. I'd have loved to stay several more nights... Very smooth trip, the team seemed very friendly and well organised. As a surprise to me, the food was quite tasty too. The whole thing felt very safe and the vomit bags were free :-)

I came to Cairns with one purpose: diving the Great Barrier Reef! I had gotten a recommendation for Cairns Dive Centre, checked its TripAdvisor reviews, and booked myself onto an overnight trip. I visited the shop the day before my trip, which was lucky as I hadn't realized I needed a special medical release (old guy meds); there was a... More

CDC were the best value smaller boat we could find to the outer reef. The staff were young and enthusiastic and all friendly. They seemed to take safety very seriously which was reassuring to me. The intro dive was good but snorkelling experience was amazing. Buffet lunch was surprisingly good too. Definitely recommend for all age groups.

The marine life was very impressive when out snorkelling on the reef kist day tour, found Nemo and saw some beautiful coloured fish. Also spotted a whale on the ride home! However, if you are a nervous or first time snorkeler, this is not the trip for you, as people have already mentioned in previous reviews. The staff, as another... More

Did the day tour out to the outer reef. My daughter isnt a diver but did their inttoduction to diving. I am licenced. They provided everything and of course we were concerned about safety. They continuously counted everyone. They were very professional. The diving was great and the crew were relaxed and humorous. We had a great day. We also... More

Our large group of 8 adults & 9 kids (5-16yrs) had a fantastic 4 days on board. The rooms are comfy and all with ensuites and plenty of areas to relax & chill out between dives. Ample food & super friendly staff. Thanks for all your effort in putting together a Pirate Party for the kids. Overall a very relaxing... More

After taking the Reef Teach course, it only seemed natural to take a day trip to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. The choice of CDC's Reef Kist was a very good one. The day went smoothly. There were numerous briefings by the staff as well as the dive master, Sean, who might be a stand up comic if diving doesn't... More

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did two intro dives which I would strongly suggest doing, as they give you a very cool perspective of the reef compared to just snorkelling. The scuba instructor was very friendly and made it very easy to jump right in as a first-time scuba diver.
