We took the Tusa trip on Saturday November 7. This was our second GBR snorkel trip - the first was two days earlier with Great Adventures. The Tusa experience we found to be inferior. The staff were young and, although competent, displayed some arrogance and were at times hard to approach and unresponsive. The two reef spots we visited were... more

My husband and I chose TUSA on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. It was the right choice! At first I was a little worried because the boat was filled with snorkelers and people trying our diving for the first time. However, once we were underway all the different groups were sorted out and we never got in each other's... more

i had a thouroughly enjoyable day's diving with Tusa. The staff were a lot of fun and very helpful. My one qualm was the fact that everything seemed so rigidly organised and strict with terms such as, this is not Thailand or some other 3rd world diving location but the great barrier reef and we take care of it so... more

We booked a snorkeling trip with the T5 Tusa company while visiting Cairns. It was a great experience, and the crew were very professional. They explained everything on the itinerary for the day, provided us with cookies and tea for breakfast, and a lunch buffet. We didn't like how the food for lunch was ice cold pasta and deli meats...it... more

I have mixed feelings about this operation. They run it sort of like disney world, a lot of gimmicks with sales etc. But the problem is that they have so many different people on the boat trying to do what they think they are on the boat for. The divers mix with non certified divers and they mix with the... more

We had 3 fantastic dives at the GBR with TUSA. They bring both divers and snorkelers to the reefs, but have separate staff devoted to helping divers with gear and bringing them on guided tours so the service felt more personal. We did 3 dives on 2 different reefs. We paid for 2 dives, and they threw in an extra... more

We did six dives over 2 days on the GBR aboard the TUSA 5. The boat was very well-equipped, with 4 bathrooms, two nicely-laid out inside\outside decks and even air fill whips to eliminate changing tanks between dives (very nice feature). The boat even has an on-board photographer to help record your day above and below water. Despite the presence... more

Went out to Miln Reef and Thetford reefs. Ride was alittle bumpy, definitely take your seasick meds if you're prone to seasickness. Otherwise, the boat's clean and modern. We chose this over other tour companies becuase of the smaller groups (no more than 60 people) and they went out to the outter reef (clearer water and reefs are better preserved... more

As a moderately-experienced (93 dives) diver I spent a fair amount of time searching on the internet for the best day-trip experience when I was going to Cairns for business. Most of the reviews I read were from novice divers, and most of the websites seemed to cater to students or first time divers. Tusa was my first choice and... more
