This is a beautiful walk. It's about 25 minutes from the Marina to the end of the walk, so 5km return. Along the way are exercise spots where you can work your abs, legs or upper body. TIP: go when it's quiet and before it gets hot. Just before sunrise is amazing!

The boardwalk has obviously been well thought out as, along the way, there are many areas set out for children to play as well as benches to sit and just admire the sea view. Lovely!

The boardwalk was a wonderful place to walk. They had play areas for kids, exercise equipment and so much more. It was a great place to stay.

The boardwalk has exercise equipment all through it and playgrounds as well as beach volley ball courts. The other direction is to the marina and the lagoon. I love the new boardwalk it's a huge improvement to Cairns.

The place itself wasn't particularly impressive. The water was muddy and wasn't that scenic. There are good information on the board walk that gives history about the place which is probably the overall highlight.

I liked the ocean-side of the Esplanade - not to be confused with the commercial strip across the street. There is a huge, free public swimming pool with lockers and showers.
